दिव्य स्मरण • विजय

रावनु रथी बिरथ रघुबीरा। देखि बिभीषन भयउ अधीरा॥
भावार्थ: रावण को रथ पर और श्री रघुवीर को बिना रथ के देखकर विभीषण अधीर हो गए। प्रेम अधिक होने से उनके मन में सन्देह हो गया (कि वे बिना रथ के रावण को कैसे जीत सकेंगे)। श्री रामजी के चरणों की वंदना करके वे स्नेह पूर्वक कहने लगे॥
Meaning: Seeing Ravan mounted on a chariot and Shri Ram without one, Vibhishan became restless. Out of great love, doubt arose in his heart — how could Ram defeat Ravan without a chariot? Bowing at the feet of Shri Ram, he lovingly spoke.

नाथ न रथ नहि तन पद त्राना। केहि बिधि जितब बीर बलवाना॥
भावार्थ: हे नाथ! आपके न रथ है, न तन की रक्षा करने वाला कवच है और न जूते ही हैं। वह बलवान् वीर रावण किस प्रकार जीता जाएगा? कृपानिधान श्री रामजी ने कहा- हे सखे! सुनो, जिससे जय होती है, वह रथ दूसरा ही है॥
Meaning: O Lord! You have no chariot, no armor to protect your body, not even shoes. How will that mighty warrior Ravan be defeated? Shri Ram, the ocean of grace, said — O friend! Listen, the chariot that brings victory is of another kind.

सौरज धीरज तेहि रथ चाका। सत्य सील दृढ़ ध्वजा पताका॥
भावार्थ: शौर्य और धैर्य उस रथ के पहिए हैं। सत्य और शील (सदाचार) उसकी मजबूत ध्वजा और पताका हैं। बल, विवेक, दम (इंद्रियों का वश में होना) और परोपकार- ये चार उसके घोड़े हैं, जो क्षमा, दया और समता रूपी डोरी से रथ में जोड़े हुए हैं॥
Meaning: Valor and patience are the wheels of that chariot. Truth and good conduct are its strong flag and banner. Strength, wisdom, self-control, and benevolence are its four horses, bound to the chariot with reins of forgiveness, compassion, and equanimity.

ईस भजनु सारथी सुजाना। बिरति चर्म संतोष कृपाना॥
भावार्थ: ईश्वर का भजन ही (उस रथ को चलाने वाला) चतुर सारथी है। वैराग्य ढाल है और संतोष तलवार है। दान फरसा है, बुद्धि प्रचण्ड शक्ति है, श्रेष्ठ विज्ञान कठिन धनुष है॥
Meaning: The remembrance of God is the wise charioteer. Detachment is the shield, and contentment the sword. Charity is the axe, intellect is the fierce power, and supreme knowledge is the strong bow.

अमल अचल मन त्रोन समाना। सम जम नियम सिलीमुख नाना॥
भावार्थ: निर्मल (पापरहित) और अचल (स्थिर) मन तरकस के समान है। शम (मन का वश में होना), (अहिंसादि) यम और (शौचादि) नियम- ये बहुत से बाण हैं। ब्राह्मणों और गुरु का पूजन अभेद्य कवच है। इसके समान विजय का दूसरा उपाय नहीं है॥
Meaning: A pure and steady mind is like the quiver. Calmness, moral restraints (yamas like non-violence), and disciplines (niyamas like purity) are its many arrows. The worship of Brahmins and Guru is the invincible armor. There is no other means of victory equal to this.

सखा धर्ममय अस रथ जाकें। जीतन कहँ न कतहुँ रिपु ताकें॥
भावार्थ: हे सखे! ऐसा धर्ममय रथ जिसके हो उसके लिए जीतने को कहीं शत्रु ही नहीं है॥
Meaning: O friend! One who possesses such a chariot of righteousness has no enemy to conquer anywhere.
दोहा : महा अजय संसार रिपु जीति सकइ सो बीर। जाकें अस रथ होइ दृढ़ सुनहु सखा मतिधीर॥80 क॥
भावार्थ: हे धीरबुद्धि वाले सखा! सुनो, जिसके पास ऐसा दृढ़ रथ हो, वह वीर संसार (जन्म-मृत्यु) रूपी महान् दुर्जय शत्रु को भी जीत सकता है (रावण की तो बात ही क्या है)।
Meaning: O wise friend! Listen, the hero who possesses such a steadfast chariot can conquer even the invincible enemy of worldly existence (birth and death) — defeating Ravan is nothing compared to that.
