In the previous stories, we experienced the battle of Karbala. Ali Zayn al-Abidin was chained with her aunt, Bibi Zeneb Radiallahu Anha, and was mistreated in the court of Yazid. He was partially conscious, when he was taken to the court, and he had felt the lashes deeply. The portraits of the soldiers were deeply engraved in his memories. He grew up as a learned young man. His knowledge, humbleness and generosity fetvhed him several well-wishers. Others were in his priority list, before himself. He used to feed all the people in need, and his friends were also the part of the langar service. He never looked the eyes of the people, out of humbleness. Once the town of Karbala experienced a devastating drought and famine. They sought the help of Ali Zayn al-Abidin. He served all the people in a royal lavish manner, the blessings of Allah made all the arrangements. Needs of all the seekers were quenched, the needs of an infant, to the pregnant ladies and to the old people were taken care of. The group of seekers comprised an old man, who was observing the humble service of Ali Zayn al-Abidin. He wished to express himself before Him, but was choked by hesitation. One day, he held Ali Abidin’s hand, and tears rolled down from his eyes. Ali Abidin asked for the cause of grief, but he was dumbfound. He smiled and asked patiently. The man asked about his identity to Him. He replied that he was the same soldier who lashed several whips on Him and His aunt, Bibi Zenab, after the grand battle. The man asked for the reason for the humble selfless service to Him, despite the man has inscibed in His memories as a brutal person. Ali Abidin replied that the man gave them the bounties and virtues he owned, when they were in Karbala, as prisoners, but they gave him, humbleness and selfless love, for those were their only treasures.
Despite the old man treated the family of Ali Zayn al-Abidin, but the overflowing love for Allah spread the virtues of love to all the people who met Him. Such was the verge of humbleness and forgiveness in our ancestors, worthy enough to be practiced, even for a millisecond per day.
