Mathur Babu keenly observes Gadadhar and his activities. One day, he walks into the mandir and asks Gadadhar, Baba, you experience Mother in your every breath. Let me also experience Her opulent form.” Gadadhar says, “I am unawre of everything. I ask everything from Mother. You also ask her.” Mathur Babu prays to Mother, “O Mother, let me experience Thy Form.” But, he experiences nothing. He says to Gadadhar, “Mother does not listen to me. You ask her.” Gadadhar says, “I have asked her to help you but, you have to seek her. I’m unaware of your terms with Mother.” Mathur Babu returns with a gloomy heart.

Every day, Mathur Babu continues visiting the mandir every evening and asks Gadadhar, “You can show her to me. Please let me take a sip of the nectar you enjoy every moment.” But, he receives unsatisfactory replies from Gadadhar.

One evening, Mathur Babu comes to the mandir, in the dusk, the godhuli Bela. He sees Gadadhar about to venture into the state of intense samadhi. Mathur Babu does not disturb him as he experiences an extraordinarily strong aura of Gadadhar. He sits down in a corner and prays, “Mother, kindly bestow your blessings today.” Suddenly, Gadadhar rises, and Mathur Babu sees the form of Ardhanarinateshwar, Mother in one half of the body and Shiva in another half, placed bilaterally, in a single form. When Mathur Babu sees Gadadhar’s back, he sees Mother’s idol, the same placed at the altar. Mathur Babu faints seeing the elegance. Gadadhar says, “Thank you”, and touches Mathur Babu. Then, he sprinkles some water, and Mathur Babu rises. Gadadhar says, “You cannot bear such a meager vision, and you wished to see Mother.” From this day, Mathur Babu vows never to insist on Gadadhar for such wishes.

One day, Gadadhar is with Mathur Babu and Hridaya in the mandir. Hridaya says to Mathur Babu, “He does not take care of his body. He does not take food and never pays heed to my words.” Mathur Babu to Gadadhar, “This is not fair Baba. You should take care of yourself.” Gadadhar says, “I don’t know. Mother knows about all her plays.” Mathur Babu says, “This is not practical. You are Mother.” and continues explaining Gadadhar to aid his body. Gadadhar drops some tricks and says, “See, Mother can do anything.” Mathur Babu says, “Can she change the laws of Nature?” Gadadhar answers, “Yes, she is beyond all the laws. Go and see in the garden, and there can be flowers of contrast colors on the same branch of the same plant.” Within five minutes, a shrub of china rose grows in the mandir’s garden with one red and another white flower on the same branch. Mathur Babu reaches the garden and sees the wonder of Nature.

Gadadhar calls him back and says, “Did you see the flaws of Nature? See, nothing is impossible for Mother. You ask that energy. You will surely find it.” Mathur Babu says, “I cannot perceive the energy. How can I see it?” Gadadhar explains, “Your mind is always fixed on the material world. Though you love me and thus experience temporary visions. But, your mind is soiled by the world. But, if you stain the mind with the colors of Mother, that is, fix your mind on that Energy, you need not ask me for any special perception. You will find it within yourself.”

Moral: Though Mathur Babu was pure enough to experience to Mother, but wasn’t prepared. There are three conditions. There are wide differences in seeing Lord, living with Lord, and being Lord. Our attempts should be to be Lord. That restlessness for Lord is important. Thus it is said, “Sankalp Rahit Vikalp..” (A single ambition without any parallel escape options)
