Once there was a queen, and she had a parrot. The parrot used to chant the mantras. Every day, a pandit came to the queen and delivered sermons. The parrot always said to him, “he is a lier.” The pandit felt embarrassed. After a day or so, he went to his Satguru for a solution, as the queen could banish him. He conveyed the story to his Guruji. Guruji said, “Don’t worry, I shall come with you tomorrow.”
The next morning, they went to the court. Before delivering the sermon, Guruji met the parrot and asked him, “Why do you call him a lier?” The parrot replied, “He says that name frees everyone from the bondage by repeating the name, but it is wrong. It doesn’t happen with me.” Guruji asked it, “What happened with you?” The parrot said, “Long ago, I lived in the forest and enjoyed nature and its fruits. One day, bad luck clouded my day, and I sat on a guava tree on the premises of an ashrama. The disciples chanted the name, and out of my learning habit, I chanted with them and learned the mantras. One day, a rich businessman came to the ashrama with some offerings, and out of reverence, the people of the ashrama caged me in an iron cage and gifted me to him. The businessman took me and placed me in a silver cage. Even the businessman had to get a job done through the king. He gifted me to the king. The king gave me to his wife as she was a religious lady. The queen placed me in a golden cage. She gave me nuts and royal delicacies, which I didn’t like. So, see, the name didn’t free me.” Guruji said, “It is a meager issue. Today, when I shall complete the sermon, you lay flat as if you are dead. Don’t move at all, irrespective of any jerks queen makes. Then leave everything to me.” The parrot agreed.
After the sermon, the queen went to the cage to offer the prasad and found the parrot dead. She tried her best to wake it, but it didn’t. She asked the servants to take it and bury it in the garden. As the servant opened the cage and took it out from the cage, it flew away.
Moral: When the parrot chanted the name, it found the golden cage. But, when it stopped chanting, it gained freedom. The arrival of Satguru made the chanting live, and he truly gained freedom. We chant the name from childhood but never feel the essence. Once the Satguru comes into our life, freedom becomes sure.
- A question arose, “How do we know we have realized God?” Answer- If we are indifferent to all the responses of the world. We do not do anything for the sake of selfishness. We can feel the pain for everyone. We feel the oneness. We need not renounce anything; the passions shed by themselves. Before the passions shed away, the money loses its grip on our existence, and we start performing charity. Charity is the preliminary step in the divine journey.
- “What is charity?” Answer- Charity is an act in which the left hand should not know what the right hand does. Giving charity to the mandir, masjid or Gurudwara helps us get our wishes fulfilled. The tax-free savings in the mandir may either lead to true philanthropic acts or may even cause severe corruption. It is better to return our debts to nature by our hands. Nature gives us trees, fruits, shelter, and everything. But, we do not repay it. It is better to plant trees or help the wildlife. It is said that thirty-four crore Gods and Goddesses dwell in Mother Cow. Whatever she gives, it is beneficial for nature. She dies on the roads every day in multitude, but no one suffers any punishment. Killing a deer sends a person behind the bars, but there is no punishment for killing a cow. Serving Mother cow is a noble task. Several organizations claim to serve Mother cow. It is our choice to choose a place which works for Mother cows. It is the best choice to serve her by our hands otherwise, give to the organizations that work for them.
- Another question, “The queen was left cheated as she lost her parrot.” Answer- The queen also received the blessings of the satguru the same day and thus was saved from being attached to it.
- What is Diksha? Answer- We receive Ashish. Until we surrender our head (mind here for Shish), we cannot receive true blessings. When a person is ready to surrender his mind, Guru takes the burdens and claims of his life and frees him from sufferings. There shall be pains but no sufferings. After losing the body, one is freed from the clutches of Maya and unites with his Guru.
- Question- “If Lord does everything, then what about the mistakes?” Answer- The things we do surrendering to the Lord are right. There is a big difference between believing in Lord and being obedient to Lord. It is important to be obedient to his words.
- Question- “Does Lord meditate?” Answer- Yes of course. Sri Krishna meditated for fourteen years leaving Dwarka, and then narrated Gita. Even, Rama lived in exile for fourteen years, whereas Mother Sita mediated in Ashoka Vatika. Even Lord can’t preach without practicing. Thakur Ji penanced through different paths and united with the Divinity. Until and unless we practice the state of being in Dhyaan, we can’t realize the truth.
- When we hear monotonous moral stories through social media, we don’t practice it. But, once we hear it from a Satguru, things work wonders.
- Question- “Why does the Satguru does not unveil his identity? as we saw that only a handful knew Thakur Ji as an incarnation.” Answer- Where there is a lord there is Maya as well. Lord does not want to unveil itself. There is a quote, “Gehun ke Saath Ghun Bhi Pista Hai”. People approach the Guru for the sake of worldly wises and bother the Tatva. To avoid any botheration for the Self and the people, they do not unveil themselves. The ones craving for the essence, find it and realize the essence.
एक बार एक रानी थी, और उसके पास एक तोता था। तोता मंत्रों का जाप करता था। प्रतिदिन एक पंडित रानी के पास आता और उपदेश देता। तोता हमेशा उससे कहता था, “तुम झूठे हो।” पंडित को शर्मिंदगी महसूस हुई। कुछ दिन के बाद, वह समाधान के लिए अपने सतगुरु के पास गया, क्योंकि रानी उसे निर्वासित कर सकती थी। उन्होंने अपने गुरुजी को कहानी सुनाई। गुरुजी ने कहा, “चिंता मत करो, मैं कल तुम्हारे साथ चलूँगा।”
अगले दिन सुबह वे महल गए। उपदेश देने से पहले, गुरुजी ने तोते से मुलाकात की और उससे पूछा, “आप उसे झूठा क्यों कहते हैं?” तोते ने उत्तर दिया, “वह कहता है कि भगवान का नाम सभी को बंधन से मुक्त कर देता है, लेकिन यह गलत है। मेरे साथ ऐसा नहीं होता है।” गुरुजी ने उससे पूछा, “तुम्हें क्या हुआ?” तोते ने कहा, “बहुत पहले, मैं जंगल में रहता था और प्रकृति और उसके फलों का आनंद लेता था। एक दिन, दुर्भाग्य से मैं एक आश्रम के परिसर में एक अमरूद के पेड़ पर बैठ गया। शिष्यों ने नाम का जाप किया, और अपनी सीखने की आदत से, मैंने उनके साथ जप किया और मंत्र सीखा।एक दिन, एक धनी व्यापारी कुछ नैवेद्य लेकर आश्रम में आया, और श्रद्धा से, आश्रम के लोगों ने मुझे लोहे के पिंजरे में बंद कर दिया और मुझे उपहार में दिया । व्यापारी ने मुझे ले लिया और चांदी के पिंजरे में रख दिया। व्यापारी को भी राजा से काम करवाना था। उसने मुझे राजा को उपहार में दिया। राजा ने मुझे अपनी पत्नी को दे दिया क्योंकि वह एक धार्मिक महिला थी। रानी ने मुझे सोने के पिंजरे में रखा। उसने मुझे मेवा और शाही व्यंजन दिए, जो मुझे पसंद नहीं थे। तो, देखिए, नाम ने मुझे मुक्त नहीं किया।” गुरुजी ने कहा, “यह एक छोटी सी बात है। आज, जब मैं धर्मोपदेश पूरा करूंगा, तो आप मरे हुए के रूप में सो जाना। बिल्कुल भी हिलना मत, चाहे कितना भी झटका रानी करे। फिर सब कुछ मुझ पर छोड़ दो।” तोता राजी हो गया।
प्रवचन के बाद, रानी प्रसाद देने पिंजरे के पास आयी और तोते को मृत पाया। उसने उसे जगाने की बहुत कोशिश की, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ। उसने नौकरों से इसे लेने और बगीचे में दफनाने के लिए कहा। नौकर ने जैसे ही पिंजरा खोला और पिंजरे से बाहर निकाला, वह उड़ गया।
शिक्षा: जब तोते ने नाम जप किया, तो उसे सोने का पिंजरा मिला। लेकिन, जब उसने जप करना बंद कर दिया, तो उसे स्वतंत्रता मिल गई। सतगुरु के आगमन ने जप को जीवंत बना दिया, और तोते ने वास्तव में स्वतंत्रता प्राप्त की। हम बचपन से नाम का जप करते हैं लेकिन सार को कभी महसूस नहीं करते हैं। एक बार जब हमारे जीवन में सतगुरु आ जाते हैं, तो स्वतंत्रता सुनिश्चित हो जाती है।
- एक प्रश्न उठा, “हमें कैसे पता चलेगा कि हमने ईश्वर को जान लिया है?” उत्तर- यदि हम संसार की सभी प्रतिक्रियाओं के प्रति उदासीन हैं। हम स्वार्थ के लिए कुछ भी नहीं करते हैं। हम सबके दर्द को महसूस कर सकते हैं। हम एकता महसूस करते हैं। हमें कुछ भी त्यागने की जरूरत नहीं है; सब अपने आप छूट जाता है। इससे पहले कि बुराई दूर हो जाए, पहले पैसे छूटने लगते हैं, और हम दान करना शुरू कर देते हैं। दान दिव्य यात्रा का प्रारंभिक चरण है।
- “दान क्या है?” उत्तर- दान एक ऐसा कार्य है जिसमें बाएं हाथ को यह नहीं पता होना चाहिए कि दायां हाथ क्या करता है। मंदिर, मस्जिद या गुरुद्वारा में दान देने से हमारी मनोकामना पूरी होती है। मंदिर में कर-मुक्त बचत या तो सच्चे परोपकारी कृत्यों में उपयोग की जाती है या गंभीर भ्रष्टाचार का कारण भी बन सकती है। अपने हाथों से प्रकृति को अपने ऋण वापस करना बेहतर है। प्रकृति हमें पेड़, फल, आश्रय और सब कुछ देती है। लेकिन, हम इसका भुगतान नहीं करते हैं। पेड़ लगाना या वन्यजीवों की मदद करना बेहतर है। कहा जाता है कि गाय माता में चौंतीस करोड़ देवी-देवता निवास करते हैं। वह जो कुछ भी देती है, वह प्रकृति के लिए फायदेमंद होती है। वह सड़कों पर प्रतिदिन बड़ी संख्या में मरती है, परन्तु किसी को कोई दण्ड नहीं मिलता। हिरण को मारने से व्यक्ति को सलाखों के पीछे भेज दिया जाता है, लेकिन गाय को मारने की कोई सजा नहीं है। गौ माता की सेवा करना उत्तम कार्य है। कई संस्थाएं गाय माता की सेवा करने का दावा करती हैं। यह हमारी पसंद है कि हम गायों के लिए काम करने वाली जगह चुनें। हमारे हाथों से उनकी सेवा करना सबसे अच्छा विकल्प है अन्यथा, उन संगठनों को दें जो उनके लिए काम करते हैं।
- एक और सवाल, “रानी को धोखा देकर छोड़ दिया गया क्योंकि उसने अपना तोता खो दिया था।” उत्तर- रानी को भी उसी दिन सद्गुरु का आशीर्वाद प्राप्त हुआ और इस प्रकार वह तोते से आसक्त होने से बच गई।
- “दीक्षा क्या है?” उत्तर- हम आशीष प्राप्त करते हैं। जब तक हम अपना सिर (मन, शीश के लिए, यहाँ) समर्पित नहीं करते, तब तक हमें सच्चा आशीर्वाद नहीं मिल सकता है। जब कोई व्यक्ति अपने मन को समर्पित करने के लिए तैयार होता है, तो गुरु उसके जीवन के लेन-देन को लेता है और उसे कष्टों से मुक्त करता है। दुख होंगे पर कष्ट नहीं होंगे। शरीर खोने के बाद माया के चंगुल से छूटकर अपने गुरु से मिल जाता है।
- प्रश्न- “यदि प्रभु सब कुछ करते हैं, तो गलतियों का क्या?” उत्तर- हम प्रभु को समर्पण करके जो काम करते हैं वह ठीक ही होता है। भगवान को मानना और उनकी मानने में बहुत बड़ा अंतर है।
- प्रश्न- “क्या भगवान ध्यान करते हैं?” उत्तर- हां बिल्कुल। श्रीकृष्ण ने द्वारका को छोड़कर चौदह वर्ष तक तपस्या की और फिर गीता सुनाई। यहां तक कि राम चौदह वर्ष वनवास में रहे, माता सीता ने अशोक वाटिका में साधना की। बिना अभ्यास के भगवान भी उपदेश नहीं दे सकते। ठाकुर जी ने विभिन्न रास्तों से तपस्या की और देवत्व से एक हो गए। और जब तक हम ध्यान में रहने की अवस्था का अभ्यास नहीं करते, हम सत्य को नहीं जान सकते।
- जब हम सोशल मीडिया के माध्यम से नीरस नैतिक कहानियां सुनते हैं, तो हम इसका अभ्यास नहीं करते हैं। लेकिन, एक बार जब हम इसे किसी सतगुरु से सुनते हैं, तो चीजें अद्भुत काम करती हैं।
- प्रश्न- “सतगुरु अपनी पहचान का खुलासा क्यों नहीं करते? जैसा कि हमने देखा कि ठाकुर जी को केवल एक मुट्ठी भर लोग ही अवतार के रूप में जानते थे।” उत्तर-जहाँ प्रभु है वहाँ माया भी है। प्रभु स्वयं को प्रकट नहीं करना चाहते हैं। एक उद्धरण है, “गेहुं के साथ घुन भी पिस्ता है”। लोग सांसारिक इक्षाओं के लिए गुरु के पास जाते हैं और तत्व को परेशान करते हैं। स्वयं और लोगों के लिए किसी भी परेशानी से बचने के लिए, वे स्वयं को प्रकट नहीं करते हैं। जो सार के लिए तरसते हैं, उसे ढूंढते हैं और सार को महसूस करते हैं।
