Purity of Celebrations and waters

The day of Akshaya Tritiya is an auspicious occasion. People wish for good health and wealth, and carry out customs to please their deities. They purchase gold and jewelry, for they may not be void of wealth for ages. The rituals of decorating and adorning doll brides and grooms, indicate a good omen, for a happy life of the couple ahead. But, is this the correct interpretation? Do these rituals really cleanse our minds, and fix it at the Divine feet of the Lord? Let us ponder over it.

Akshaya means which is never vanquished, is indestructible and immortal. There is only The Soul, which is can’t be annihilated. It is the present, the past and the future. Wealth, health and the objects perceived by our senses are all impermanant.

Tritiya means three. There are three elements of our mental composition, Satoguna , Rajoguna , Tamoguna. These three denote the faculties of goodness, doership and ignorance, successively. These three are ought to be severed by the Trident of Lord Shiva‘s Name. “May we be able to renounce all the faculties of our mind, and rest over the lap of cozy Bliss” is the real sense.

People buy gold, thinking to flourish for generations, by accumulating so-called precious metals makes us bland and ruthless. They even wish their kins, for inextinguishable Happiness and pleasures. This is a befooling falsehood. Only the Eternity is eternal and never finishes, once we become capable of earning the supply.

Is this the needed ritual? It is a poison, which unnerves our senses and pushes us off the cliff, deep enough to engulf Infinite earths.

The festival for knowing the immortal soul, clobbering the three limbs of the monkey mind is Akshaya Tritiya. There are many perceptions regarding the historical event, which occurred on this day.

  • This day is considered as the day of pinnacle incarnation of Lord Vishnu as ParashuramJi.
  • A curse by Rishi Durvasa was tried to be borne out, with the help of Akshaya Patra, which was rendered to Maa Draupadi, by Lord Krishna. This is the day of incarnation of Maa Annapurna, so the rememberance of the Divine will is never absent.
  • According the chronicles of Jainism, this is the day of Oblivion; the first Teerthankar, Rishabh Dev was enlightened.
  • Rishi Bhaghirathi fostered the existence of Ganga Ji, on this day.

Even, our attention must contemplate over the holy waters of the River Ganga. Why is She considered as the holiest, among all the other rivers. Its waters never rotten in stagnation, and ensures health of the beings, taking even a single drop. It is as pure as that of Abe ZamZam at Mecca, and the Amrita Jal in Golden Temple. Let us take a glance at some articles which prove it to possess an element ‘Bacteriophage’ which destroys bacteria, and its replication frequency is very high, and obliterates the bacteria, despite tons of debris and sewage is being dumped daily.

These clippings indicate the scientific backgrounds of its purity. Even few drops of this ambrosia, takes away all the mental ailments. It creates Tranquility and Bliss in the physical and mental platform of existence. Now, I end up all this scientific reasoning of proving holiness in laboratory. Let us understand its spiritual aspect. A very important theory, “Yat pinde Tat Brahmaande”, means whatever is in the cosmos, is also within our bodies, needs to be kept in mind.

The reciprocal intersections of two channels at the Ajna and the Sahastrara

The Nadis in our body, Ida and Pingala carry our breaths to and fro. These two channels intersect at the Ajna Chakra at the glabella, center of the eyebrow, and further form a confluence at the Sahastrara Chakra. These basic channels are the homologues of some physical manifestations of nature. Let us see the geographical manifestations of Descent of Ganga, to establish a beautiful correlation.

Descent and confluences:

These images indicate the confluence of five preliminary rivers with the deeper Alaknanda. The convergence of five elements of the gross body into the main stream of Immortality, makes us realize the indestructibility of the Soul. Once all the elements of the body, the ether, air, fire, water, earth, are cleansed, we realize the nature of The Self. We become Ganga Herself. The meeting point of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi is called Devprayag, and Dev means the Soul. This point emanates as Ganga.
The panchmahabhuta (homologues of five prodromal tributeries) aggregate to form the gross body. Ida and Pingala are the homologues of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. When the breathe traverses the central canal of the spinal cord, or we may say that when the breathe travels in the channel of Sushmna, it becomes Ganga. The Ajna is the site of Triveni Sangam, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati merges with its covert outlook. The junction of the rivers in Allahabad, is not the place to be hailed, but, its presentation within needs expression, to free us from all worldly ‘expressions’.
When the breathe flows through the central canal of spinal cord, the Ganga merges with the vastness of the infinite oceans, as River Ganga coalesces with the vast waterbody, Bay of Bengal. Likewise, when the coils of Energy resting at the tip of sacrum, the Kundalini rises, it unwinds itself, elaborating its body, and goes to the apex to unite with the Infinitude. It opens its three-and-a-half loops, and infiltrates through all the seven centres in the spine, stimulating and cleansing them to sterility.

The aerial view of Triveni Sangam indicates the fact that when all the trigunas are cleansed, the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati form the confluence at the Ajna.

The sights of Natural forces bring colossal ecstasy in our minds, and forces us to rejoice. We can embrace the similar beauty, with a greater intensity, waiting for us to wrap up in Her arms.

Let us give a glance to the aftermaths once the micro-Ganga exits into the Vastness:

1. Once the gunas are cleansed, we become a Fakir. Fakir is not the person who wanders for alms. He is the one who is capable of tuning its will with that of Thee, the one who can control His senses, is the embodiment of faith, and is generous all the beings of the planet. In Devanagari script, this etymology is rendered by the term itself. फकीर = फ+क+य+रे; जो फ़ाका करे, अपने इन्द्रियों को काबू कर लिया हो, अल्लाह पर यकीन हो, और रेहम दिल हो। (FAKIR= Fa+Ka+Ya+Re; one who practices the custom of faka, who has conquered, viz kabu His senses, who has faith, viz yakeen, who is kind to all, viz rehamdil) Kabir Das Ji has quoted- “Kabira khada bazaar mein sabki maangen khair na kahun se dosti na kahun se bair”.
2. As the Ganga (homologue of Kundalini), Yamuna and Saraswati (homologues of Ida and Pingala channels) integrates with Integrity, the being slips into Samadhi Avastha, He attains Nirvana, the Moksha. Even a trickle of spillage of individuality dries up, and loses His consciousness into the Endless Continuum. This is the Ultimate Transcendental state.

Let us loosen up our sails and flow with the raging forces of the Divine will and will soon coalesce with the bubble of Colossal Quantum.
