Two Tales

1. FAITH PRESERVES

This is a parable from the life of a renowned seer, Rabya Basari, who has said

“If I adore You out of fear of Hell, burn me in Hell!
If I adore you out of desire for Paradise,
Lock me out of Paradise.
But if I adore you for Yourself alone,
Do not deny to me Your eternal beauty.”

This link (More about Her) shall lead us to a new page, which is created on life of Rabya Basri Ji.

Faith Preserves

One of Her disciples had gifted a shawl to Rabya Basri. Though She never accepted anything from anyone, but on several requests, She agreed. Material profits never stirred Her, only prayers and reminiscence swirled in Her.
There was a thief, who had a habit of stealing petty items, for trivial survival. He used to gather items from shops stealthily, picked pockets and was called little menace of the town. Rabya Ji never latched the doors and windows of Her house, had firm faith on Allah. What can be robbed from a seer, who runs penniless, and who can kill the Eternal? The thief became aware about Her gift.
On day, he slipped into Her house, covertly. She was resting, draped in that shawl. He took silent steps and reached near Her bed. Then, with gentle hands, he tried to pull off the shawl. As he placed his hand on the shawl, he lost his vision, became deaf and limbs underwent drastic atrophy. It seemed as if all his energy was sucked by some supernatural power. Reflexively, he removed his hand. Soon, he could see his surroundings, ears regained their function and limbs their strength. He tried to grab the draping again, but the scenario repeated. He was perplexed, and tried it several times, but all his efforts seemed futile. Losing hope, he turned back and began moving towards the door.
A serious voice called him back. He rotated about his axis and searched the source of voice, but could not see any one. The voice called him back again, and proclaimed that when Rabya Ji slept, It remained awake. And, it announced that no one could dare to steal an asset from Rabya Ji, until It persisted. With courage, the thief called on for the source to expose Its identity. The voice answered that It was the same Allah which was present in the all creations and in the thief as well. Confused, the thief thought that if Allah was everywhere, then why was He not helping him, as to Rabya. He left the place, swirling in that thought.

Let us also ponder over this fact, and find the solution from within. The inner Self is the only source of all answers.

2. Two Personalities

This is a tale of interaction between two persons, who may appear homologous in behavior, but are antipodes in approach towards life.

A chart shall be presented which should force us to see our ‘Internal Physiology’!!

2. Two personalities

Let us see a chart which should make us see our ‘Physiology’.

Are we a miser?

The money and assets cling to us, we behave as a strong magnet. Our tummy is filled with trash and junk. The mind is stuck in materialistic blossoms. The craving for assets and accents is horrifying.

Are we a seer?

The body is frail with respect to costumes. The bones are loosely covered with flesh and skin. It is nourished with positive thoughts and saatvic food. The mind is forced to be fixed at a Point.

(This link “Let us explore it” should carry us within, and force us to introspect our scenario)

One day, a saint was about to travel by train, with lots of luggage. He was not an ordinary seer, but a real one.

He entered in the coach, stacked his luggage and took a deep breath.

He took out his mobile phone and began speaking to someone.

In the same coach, a rich man was also travelling with his luggage. He was a business man by profession, and a grave miser as well.

Twisting his lips, he began remarking on the attributes of the sage, for carrying a lots of luggage. He boasted about his modesty of being truthful towards his profession and declared the sage as an imposter.

The saint was not annoyed over the comments. He was serene and a jolly one. He slipped into meditation, gazing at the trees outside the window.

The rich man continued boasting his modest attributes for hours and kept on criticizing the sage. The words of critical comparisons went on.

The bright sage decided to take some refreshments at a mid-way station. He requested the man to come with him, for enjoying sips of some tea.

The man agreed arrogantly and walked with the sage.

The saint purchased some goodies from the refreshment stall and shared with the rich man. The man was a miser, from birth. He gobbled the snacks aimlessly.

The saint kept the man engaged in several gossips. A loud whistle resonated in the atmosphere. The man became cautious and asked the sage to climb back in the train.

The sage grasped the man’s hand and forced him to stay there. He bid adieu to the train

The man became extremely restless, perspiration rate rose manifolds, tachycardia conquered his heart. Soon, he began yelling for help. The luggage in the train was of immense value.

Someone in the train pulled the chain, and the train halted. The saint left the hand loose and asked him to go. But, before leaving, He asked him to listen the difference between their attributes.

The sage said that the rich man was attached to the luggage he carried. But, the sage was careless about the materialistic assets.
