In a small town named Oxford in the north-west of Wales, there lived the Shah family. The little girl who was soon going to turn 9, was called Becca Shah. This family was great from outside and inside, but even they had their downs. Mr Shah was short tempered no matter how hard he tried not to get angry. On the other hand, was Becca she was very hyper, she couldn’t sit still for more than a second. However, Mrs Shah wasn’t short tempered or hyper nor did she have any other problems, but often she would be sick sitting down in bed.
The worst problem with Shah family was that they never listened to anyone they were related to but had everything to do with what strangers had to say to them.
One day the Shahs were out for a stroll along the streets, when they heard a couple talking about a yoga class taking place from Monday to Saturday 9-10am and then 10-11am spirituality and meditation. They also heard a website name say, ‘Yoga with Hemasri’. Once they got home little Becca opened up the computer and searched up the name of the URL and she came to a website where a lady with short hair was dressed in a gym outfit doing a yoga asana Beneath it had the lady’s address and phone number and her name.
The lady’s name was Hemasri, it also had the meaning of the name beside it which read one with a golden body. A little underneath there were a few lines about what happens in the class and the timings.
The next morning was the class so while Mr Shah was at work Becca and her mother set of in the car to 14 Aldous way (the road where she lived). As they came into the house, Hemasri welcomed them into the room and gave them a mat to sit on. The lady began to explain in a few words about what they did in the classes. She said that as this was yoga, they were about to do a lot of asanas and pranayama.
The group started with walking backwards and forwards on heels and toes. After that they did a lot of sitting and standing asanas, pranayama and breathings.
It was hard for them in the beginning but as the hour went on, they got much better at things with help of their guru. After the exercises they sat down and meditated into the sound of the ringing bowl. From that day on they went every day to the yoga class except Sunday as there was no class on that day. Hemasri taught them to have faith in God and themselves and that together everything is possible.
Being a great guru that she was, she gave Becca a lot of advice on how to keep calm. Becca sometimes came home after class and told her father what she was taught in class. The passed-on advice helped Mr Shah to calm down and not get as angry he used to.
While everyone was getting better with there issues, Mrs Shah was on full recovery from her sickly days. All that helped her was faith in God and some very good advice from her Guru Hemasri.
As a family, they had learnt to keep faith.
