Majestic Tusk

Once, Parashuram Ji visited Kailash to pay respects to Shiva Ji. At the doorstep, he encountered Ganesh Ji. He posed his wish to meet Shiva Ji. Ganesh Ji replied that he had to wait, as Shiva Ji was in deep samadhi avastha. Parashuram Ji was annoyed at that reply. In response, a war was set in. In wrath, Parashuram Ji used his Farsa (weapon), which was a special boon to him, which could never bring loss in a battle. The farsa was flung into the air, and it hit the tusk of Ganesh Ji. The tusk broke. Ganesh Ji cried out in pain, and roared in Shiva Ji’s Name. Mother and Shiva Ji came at the doorstep. Parashuram Ji realized his mistake and asked for deep forgiveness from Lord. In turn, he blessed Ganesh Ji, with his words that that tusk would not be wasted.

When Veda Vyasa Ji met Shiva Ji, Ganesh Ji was appointed for the job. During the course of dictation, the inked peacock feather was broken. Then, Ganesh Ji used the same tusk to write the remain Mahakaavya, Mahabharata, and even several other grand epics.

Such is the power of a tusk. This is the reason of flourishing ivory business. It can be molded easily into ornaments and decorative items. It belongs to Ganesh Ji. If we will remember that it is His, we will remember not to buy or sell our Ishta. We can contribute to prevent poaching, to some extent. This also indicates a bigger scene. Anything which is used for flaunting and show-off, brings doom. Parashuram Ji was in wrath, but superficially. He was blissful, inside out. It was a leela, for Veda Vyasa Ji could complete the grand job of writing the immortal Mahakaavyas, and other epics.

If we meet an accident, and lose some beauty associated signs of our face, we often get worried about facing the ‘lime-light’. Ganesh Ji was not worried when he lost his tusk, as he was aware that beauty of mind is best, amongst all beauties. We adore Ganesh Ji, with one tusk, not with two. Character should be molded, through Lord’s help. Good character bestows beauty of love; Radha Rani will manifest.
