- After all four brothers got married, they returned to Ayodhya. King Dashrath thought of deputing his successor. He decided to coronate Rama as the king. He discussed with all the nobles and began preparations for coronation.
- Indra was horrified listening to the decision. He rushed with his colleagues to Shiva Ji to convince him to change King Dashrath’s mind. He was scared as he felt that Rama could not kill Ravana if he became the king. Ravana could not abduct Mother Sita if Rama became the king. Shiva Ji denied help. They rushed to Brahma Ji. They pleaded heavily. He denied it as well.
- Mother Saraswati appeared in the scene. She smiled and promised to help. She gave her vision to Queen Kaikeyi’s maid, Manthara. She asked her to convince Queen Kaikeyi to stop the coronation. Manthara could not do the evil. She was in tears as she could not let Ayodhya dwindle without Ramaraj. Mother Saraswati said that Manthara had to renounce her humility for a noble cause. Manthara had to obey.
- She went to Mother Kaikeyi and asked her to use two boons, given by King Dashrath. Manthara asked her to force the king to send Rama into exile for fourteen years and coronate Bharat. Mother Kaikeyi denied listening to Manthara. She could not be unrighteous. Mother Sarawati showed her opulent form to Mother Kaikeyi and convinced her. Even Rama showed his form within her heart and tried to convince her. She said that she could not sadden her Rama, her most beloved son. Rama said that she was not betraying her family but carving a righteous future for the generations ahead. At last, Mother Kaikeyi had to obey.
- Mother Kaikeyi gathered black robes and began sulking in the dark. King Dashrath asked the reason for the cause. She could not utter the words out of grief. Mother Saraswati helped her to ask for the boons. King Dashrath felt that she would ask for better bounties.
