- Ravana felt doomed after Kumbhakarana died. Then, he ordered his son, Meghanatha, to resume the war. Meghanatha realized his hidden potentialities and released an arrow for killing his uncle, Vibhishana. As Lakshamana saw the arrow approaching Vibhishana, he stood in its way and, he fell unconscious as the arrow hit him. Lakshamana stood in the way as Rama blessed Vibhishana with the boon of immortality.
- As Lakshmana fell to the ground, Rama held him in his lap. Rama and Lakshmana were aware that no one could harm them, but they had to enact the drama. Vibhishana told about the physician who could cure Lakshmana. Rama commanded Hanumana Ji to bring the doctor with due respect.
- Hanumana Ji flew and reached the doctor’s house. He thought to lift the house and take it to Rama as Ravana could harm the physician for being dishonest to his king. Hanumana Ji executed his thought. As Susain, the physician felt tremors in his bed while being in slumber, he woke up suddenly. Hanumana Ji consoled him.
- Hanumana Ji asked him to examine Lakshmana as he was unconscious. Susain examined the pulse and said that he was alive. But, he even warned that Lakshmana could die in the absence of a particular herb, which grew only in the Himalayan terrains. Rama looked at Hanumana Ji. Hanumana Ji took flight and left for the Himalayas.
- He reached the site according to the instructions. But, amidst all the mystical herbs, he could not decipher the correct herb. He took the entire mountain and left for Lanka. Hanumana Ji chose his path to Lanka through Ayodhya.
- Bharata saw the unusual object flying in the air. He shot an arrow taking the name of Rama. The arrow made Hanumana Ji descend from his flying heights. Bharata felt that Hanumana Ji was not an enemy as Hanumana Ji enunciated Rama’s name while flying. Hanumana Ji narrated the entire episode.
- Bharata asked Hanumana Ji to return immediately, as Lakshmana was struggling. Hanumana Ji decided to halt for a while. Even Urmila, Lakshmana’s consort served him patiently. Urmila was aware that the sun could not rise before Hanumana Ji reached Lanka, as Lakshmana was ought to be alive. Hanumana Ji halted and then left for Lanka. Before leaving, he embraced Bharata. Bharata felt that he was embracing his brother Rama.
- Susain collected the medicine and prepared a formulation for Lakshmana. Soon, Lakshmana rose from his unconscious state. All rejoiced. Rama embraced Hanumana Ji, and he felt that he was embracing his brother, Bharata.
- This incident clarifies the beauty of Guru’s powers. He unites Bhakta and Bhagwana.
- People asked Urmila that Lakshmana fell asleep though Rama blessed him with the boon to remain awake for fourteen years, to abolish Meghnatha. Urmila replied that Lakshmana merely rested in his Lord’s lap, being aware of the Divine sustenance. He merely napped in Yog Nidra.
