Dattatreya Ji elucidated the glories of four out of the Penta-elemental constitution of the cosmos. King Yadu felt deluded thinking about ether. He could not perceive it through the material senses. Dattatreya Ji gave him an example of poison. He asked the king if he had consumed any poison. The king denied it. Dattatreya Ji asked him the reason to accept the poisonous potency of poison, though he had not experienced it. The king replied that he had seen the incidences of death after consuming poison. Dattatreya Ji asked him to believe in the notion of the presence of ether as the Guru had perceived it. He continued saying that he learned detachment and non-interference from his Guru, Akash. Then, he asked the king to observe the sky. Dattatreya Ji showed him the harmony of planets and stars; they never moved from their allotted paths or locations. He explained that ether helped the gross elements to maintain discipline in the sky.
Moral- The ether does everything despite being nothing. It teaches us that we are neither the gross body nor the mind but the most powerful though subtle soul. A naked wire under the potential difference of 440 never unveils the hidden current. But, once we touch it, we perceive it. Visualizing ether through senses is just like touching a naked wire.
The haze of ‘me and mine’ has clouded our minds. We build buildings and mansions under the curtain of greed. Even the ether is the natural engineer. But, if we are asked to demolish our houses, we shall hesitate. But, the Ether creates, preserves, and destroys to maintain harmony, without a speck of attachment.
