Hanumana Ji went to Lanka. There were two real brothers, Ravan and Vibhishan. One of them had built houses and palaces for his kins. But, the other brother built the house not for nurturing selfishness rather for survival in the shelter of Rama’s Name. When Hanumana Ji passed by Vibhishan’s house, he was amazed to see the Name of Rama written outside the house. He was curious and wished to meet the saint. Hanuman Ji underwent a conversation with himself, saying that he didn’t know the person living in the house and could not scare him by showing his form of a monkey. So, he transformed into a humble Brahmin. He remembered Rama and went to Vibhishan’s house and knocked gently. Vibhishan opened the door gently and rejoiced gravely, seeing a brahmin at his doorstep. Even the disguised Hanuman Ji rejoiced meeting Vibhishan. Hanuman Ji hugged Vibhishan. When Vibhishan experienced the touch, he felt unusually blissful. He said to Hanuman Ji that he felt that he met Rama, meeting him. Listening to these words, Hanuman Ji took his original form of a monkey and said that he was also the devotee of Rama, as was Vibhishan. Vibhishan could not gather his emotions and burst into tears. He said that Hanuman Ji had experienced Rama inside out, but he had not. Out of a deep thirst for Rama, Vibhishan asked Hanuman Ji if he could meet Rama. Hanuman Ji reassured him, saying that if a monkey could find him, a man could find him easily.
Then, Hanuman Ji started crying. Hanuman Ji said that Vibhishan had met Mother but, he could not. Vibhishan tried to reassure him. He told Hanuman Ji a clever way to meet Mother. Hanuman Ji was aware of the location where Mother Sita lived, but he could easily reach the place with the help of Vibhishan. Vibhishan asked him to go to Mother in the night. Thus, Vibhishan made the job easy for Hanuman Ji.
Hanuman Ji said that he made the job easy for Vibhishan. He gave the Diksha of Rama’s Name to Vibhishan and asked him to practice. Vibhishan accepted the words as they were.
Moral- Vibhishan was practicing the Name of Rama from his childhood. When Hanuman Ji gave him the words of practicing the Name of Rama, he didn’t express his agony or rather complain. He accepted the words of Rama as they were. We should accept the words of the Guru without a speck of doubt.
Both the brothers were born from the same mother, but the element of ego generated the contrast; one rich in humbleness and the other in arrogance.
Both the brothers constructed houses, but their intentions were in contrast. One of them built the houses for selfishness and the other for selflessness. Even the Lord has built us, assembling several cells and lives in us. Humans construct holy places by assembling bricks but play business with Lord. We need to cherish our inner self as it is the Divine temple (or Gurudwara or church or masjid or other places). If we cannot find Lord in our hearts, we can never find him in the outside world.
