Patience and Strength are very important virtues. Let us see a scene to understand the notion.
In Janakpura, King Janak stands on the stage to introduce his daughter, Mother Sita, in the Swayamvara ceremony. He asks the kings present in the court to lift the giant Shiva’s bow. The capable one can marry Sita.
All the kings in the court try to lift the bow but in vain.
King Janak expresses distress of not finding a strong being capable enough to even move the bow.
Lakshmana cannot bear the words of disrespect and stands up abruptly from the asana. As he stands up, Mother Sita smiles as she is aware that as the pole is projected, soon the flag shall unfurl.
Rama gives him a stern look and, Lakshmana sits silently.
Mother Sita prays to Shiva Ji for making the bow light. But, Shiva Ji smiles and does nothing. Mother Sita prays to Mother Parvati for help. But she even smiles and does nothing. Mother Sita prays to Ganesh Ji, Pratham Poojya. Ganesh Ji appears and offers his greetings. Mother asks him to reduce the weight of the bow sufficient to be lifted easily. Ganesh Ji asks her the ways by which he can do the same as he is a giant being with a huge belly. He points towards his large belly. Mother Sita asks him to consider the matter seriously and even says that Ganesh Ji came to Janakpura on a mouse. So, he is capable enough to reduce his weight and ride a tiny mouse. Ganesh Ji asks Mother the way he can distribute the weight taken from the heavy bow. Mother asks him to distribute the excess weight amongst the kings present in the court as they are weightless and worthless.
Guru Vishwamitra rises and asks Rama to proceed towards the bow. Rama rises, and the remaining part of the story is a common tale.
Moral- Lakshmana stood up out but sat immediately on the command of Rama. Obedience is a must.
Mother Sita prayed to Shiva Ji and Mother Parvati, but they didn’t respond as they didn’t have to, as a part of the divine script. Ganesh Ji appeared before Mother as he was a young boy. Obedience is reflected on the part of Ganesh Ji.
The bow became light as the Almighty held the load. Rama was aware of his capabilities and, he could have held the bow in the first visit. But he waited for the right time and the command of the Guru. He had enough strength to move the world, but he didn’t flaunt.
Lord has taken us in his arms and, we are in his lap. But, we feel that the world is running due to our efforts. We gather all the burdens of the world on our heads. Burdens are not real; they are merely the clouds of thoughts that keep us engaged.
