Once upon a time, there lived a sailor. He used to pray to God always, before beginning his voyage. That day, he was traveling with a group of youngsters. Seeing him praying to God, the youngsters mocked him and said, “Why is he praying? There is no problem hovering on heads. Is it? Is there anything like God?” The sailor didn’t respond but loosened the sails of the ship for the journey to begin. After an hour or so, a strong storm hit the ship. All the youngsters began panicking and started reciting God’s name, as per their beliefs. The sailor remained silent and drove the ship efficiently. Soon, the ship crossed the storm. The youngsters sighed in relief. They asked the sailor, “Sir! Weren’t you scared in the storm? We prayed to God, but you didn’t. If we had not prayed to God, you might have died as well.” The sailor gave a humble response, “I surrendered myself, before starting my journey, and as the storm hit, I carried out my work, with the faith that God is the doer. If I had panicked like you, you might have died with me in the storm.”
Moral: It is important to have faith. Every day, when we wake up, we should have faith that we have surrendered at the divine feet and that God shall sail our ship. Then, we should have that faith the whole day and then, sleep well in the divine lap.
नाविक की कथा-
एक बार की बात है, एक नाविक रहता था। अपनी यात्रा शुरू करने से पहले हमेशा भगवान से प्रार्थना करता था। उस दिन, वह युवाओं के एक समूह के साथ यात्रा कर रहा था। उसे भगवान से प्रार्थना करते देख, युवकों ने उसका मज़ाक उड़ाया और कहा, “वह प्रार्थना क्यों कर रहा है? हमारे सिर पर कोई खतरा तो मंडरा नहीं रहा है। है ना? क्या भगवान जैसा कुछ होता है?” नाविक ने कोई जवाब नहीं दिया लेकिन यात्रा शुरू करने के लिए जहाज की पाल को ढीला कर दिया। एक घंटे के बाद, जहाज तेज तूफान के समीप आया। सभी युवा घबरा गए और अपनी मान्यताओं के अनुसार भगवान का नाम जपने लगे। नाविक चुप रहा और उसने जहाज को कुशलता से चलाया। जल्द ही, जहाज तूफान को पार कर गया। युवकों ने राहत की सांस ली। उन्होंने नाविक से पूछा, “सर! क्या आप तूफान में नहीं डरे थे? हमने भगवान से प्रार्थना की, लेकिन आपने नहीं किया। अगर हमने भगवान से प्रार्थना नहीं की होती, तो आप भी मर जाते।” नाविक ने विनम्र प्रतिक्रिया दी, “अपनी यात्रा शुरू करने से पहले मैंने खुद को आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया, और जैसे ही तूफान आया, मैंने अपना काम इस विश्वास के साथ किया कि भगवान कर्ता है। अगर मैं आपकी तरह घबरा जाता, तुम सब भी मेरा साथ मर जाते।”
शिक्षा: विश्वास होना जरूरी है। हर दिन, जब हम जागते हैं, तो हमें विश्वास होना चाहिए कि हमने दिव्य चरणों में आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया है और भगवान हमारे जहाज चलाते हैं । फिर दिन भर वह विश्वास रखना चाहिए और फिर परमात्मा की गोद में अच्छी नींद से सो जाना चाहिए।
