Guru Diksha

Once Narayan (Vishnu Ji) and Lakshmi Ji were sitting on Shesh Nag and relaxing, Narad Rishi came. Vishnu Ji and Lakshmi Ji were happy to see him. They talked with each other for some time, and then Narad Ji left. Usually, whenever Narad Ji used to leave, he did not use to look back, as he did not like leaving Narayan. But this time, while leaving, he turned around. He saw that Lakshmi Ji had taken some Ganga Jal and was washing the place where Narad Ji had sat. Seeing this, Narad Ji was baffled.

So, Narad Ji immediately turned back. He went to Narayan and Lakshmi Ji and asked, “Why did you do this? Am I impure?” Lakshmi Ji said, “No, there is nothing like that. This is because you are without a guru. Those who don’t have a guru can’t be totally free from material attachment or worldly pleasures. Some of the worldliness remains with them. Hence, I cleaned the place to ensure its positivity.

Narad Ji did not understand. He asked Narayan and Lakshmi Ji, “Can’t you be my Guru?” Narayan replied, “No, I cannot be your Guru because I am you isht. Guru makes you one with your isht. As of now, you feel that Narayan and Narad are different. Guru will make you realise that all are one—Narayan, Narad, and Nar.”

Narad Ji asked, “Then who will be my Guru?” Narayan replied, “Go to Earth, and the first person you meet will be your Guru.”

So, Narad Ji followed the instructions and went to Earth. He saw a fisherman. Narad Ji went and greeted him. However, the fisherman did not respond. His whole focus was on the net he had spread to catch the fish. Narad Ji kept asking, but the fisherman didn’t answer. This continued for a long time. Fishermen’s attention was all on the net.

Finally, after catching a fish, the fisherman responded back to Narad Ji, asking the reason Narad Ji came to him. Narad Ji was extremely surprised. How can this person be my guru? But since Narayan and Lakshmi Ji told me the first person you meet will be my guru, I have to follow that.

Narad Ji asked the fisherman, “Will you be my Guru?” The fisherman replied, “Yes, why not?”

Narad Ji then asked, “Do you even know what being a guru means?”

Fisherman countered, “First tell me where you have come from?”

Narad Ji said, “I came from visiting Narayan Ji and Lakshmi Ji.”

A fisherman asked, “Have you seen heaven and hell?” Narad Ji replied, Yes.”

Fisherman said, “Draw here heaven and hell, then lie down beside them.”

Narad Ji did as instructed by the fisherman, as he was now his guru. In his mind, he had still not accepted him as the guru, but he still went ahead and did as he was asked.

The fisherman said, “Revolve once around it,” which Narad Ji did. Then the fisherman asked Narad Ji to sit.

The fisherman said, “Good, now all your balances are null; you have attained moksha.”

Interestingly, Narad Ji felt that way as well. He felt that he had become one with Narayan in that instant. He bowed down before the fisherman and gave him the blessing that he also would become one with God.

As Narad Ji was leaving, he asked the fisherman, “Everything is fine, but tell me one thing: how did you become a Guru?” Fisherman replied, “By catching fish! When you came and called me so many times, I did not heed you. My attention was totally fixed on one point—that was with the divine soul. I haven’t proved that I have that attention, not the focus or concentration, but my total energy was focused on that soul. Whatever happens in the outside world, your mental status should be calm.”

Even Narad Ji later became a guru and gave guru diksha to so many people. He gave diksha to Valmiki, Prahlad, Maa Jagdamba, etc., to name a few. He became Brahmarishi. His words are so compelling that even Narayan Ji listens obediently.

A lady said, “We should have complete faith in whatever our guru has asked us to do. Like Narad ji did what the fisherman said, and he felt that Narayan and he are one.” Teacher said, “Narad ji can meet Narayan any time he wants. He can live with Narayan, but dualism is still there. See, this is the difference between “seeing God”, “living with God” and “becoming one with God”. Narad ji was not able to become one with God with a Guru.” The lady said, “I always tell you that I am not to see God, and you tell me there is no need to see God. Becoming one with God is important.” Teacher said, “Seeing God is a very small thing. This will only satisfy your senses. Once you are able to see God, your ego will kick in, and I will move you away from God. That’s why the guru doesn’t want this for you. He wants you to become one with God.”

Teacher explained, “We think our parents are our gurus, but they are teachers, not our gurus.” The ones who come after God are the parents, but Guru is bigger than God. Guru is the one who makes us one with God. It is very rare that a parent becomes a Satguru and their child follows them and becomes one with God. Satguru is the one who tells you that you are God yourself.” A lady said, “Guru shows us the way.” Teacher said, “Guru doesn’t show you the way. He makes you one with God. If you think the guru shows you the way, then you are wrong. Geeta also shows you the way, but it cannot make you one with God. Guru picks you up in his lap and makes you one with God.”

A lady said, “When our times come, Guru Ji will come into our lives.” We have to practise being calm inside, irrespective of whatever is happening around us.” Teacher said, “That practise we do is you taking a pause. When we pause, our thoughts are stopped, and it makes us calm from the inside.” The lady said, “I was thinking that when we take a pause, our thoughts actually stop coming. It means we are capable of stopping our thoughts, but we chose not to stop them.” Teacher said, “Yes, we can stop our thoughts. If we can stop our thought for 1 millisecond, then we can stop it for 1 hour also.” The lady said, Yes, we are lacking in practise.”

A boy said, “Guru Ji has come into our lives, and he has shown us the right path. Whatever is happening, he is doing it. It seemed to me in the story that Narad Ji’s opportunity to find a guru and unite with God had arrived when he turned around. Once Narad Ji became one with God, he helped so many others realise God. What I have understood is that first we have to become one with God, then we should help others. It should not be in a selfish way, but with the thought that we are doing Guruji’s work.” Teacher said, “You have bought a beautiful point. There are a lot of saints living on this earth who have already become one with God, but they do not guide anyone. When someone goes to see them, they only fulfil their desires and do not take on the burden that is required to make others one with God. It is a selfish act. There are different types of gurus. One is Atmakrid, and the other is Atmarati. Atmarati will make you one with God, but only when you beg him. He will not go into the fire for anyone willingly. The other is Atmakrid, like our Guru Ji. who himself jumped into the fire and is still helping us to become one with God. As Guru Ji said, “I am making you like me,” which means he is making us all Atmakrid. One day we will all become one with God and make others walk the same path. When you will become one with God, it depends on how much surrender you are.

गुरु दीक्षा

एक बार नारायण (विष्णु जी) और लक्ष्मी जी शेष नाग पर बैठे थे और आराम कर रहे थे, नारद ऋषि आए। उसे देखकर विष्णु जी और लक्ष्मी जी प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने कुछ देर तक आपस में बात की, और फिर नारद जी चले गए। आमतौर पर नारद जी जब भी जाते थे तो पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखते थे, क्योंकि उन्हें नारायण को छोड़ना पसंद नहीं था। लेकिन इस बार जाते समय वह पलट गया। उसने देखा कि लक्ष्मी जी ने थोड़ा गंगाजल ले लिया है और उस स्थान को धो रही हैं जहाँ नारद जी बैठे थे। यह देखकर नारद जी चकरा गए।

तो, नारद जी तुरंत वापस मुड़ गए। वह नारायण और लक्ष्मी जी के पास गया और पूछा, “तुमने ऐसा क्यों किया? क्या मैं पतित हूँ? लक्ष्मी जी ने कहा, “नहीं, ऐसा कुछ नहीं है। ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि आप गुरु के बिना हैं। जिनके पास गुरु नहीं है, वे भौतिक मोह या सांसारिक सुखों से पूरी तरह मुक्त नहीं हो सकते। कुछ सांसारिकता उनके साथ रहती है। इसलिए, मैंने इसकी सकारात्मकता सुनिश्चित करने के लिए जगह को साफ किया।

नारद जी को समझ नहीं आया। उन्होंने नारायण और लक्ष्मी जी से पूछा कि क्या आप मेरे गुरु नहीं हो सकते? नारायण ने उत्तर दिया, “नहीं, मैं तुम्हारा गुरु नहीं हो सकता क्योंकि मैं तुम हो। गुरु आपको अपने अहंकार से एक बना देते हैं। अभी आपको लगता है कि नारायण और नारद अलग-अलग हैं। गुरु तुम्हें एहसास कराएंगे कि सब एक हैं- नारायण, नारद और नर।

नारद जी ने पूछा तो फिर मेरा गुरु कौन होगा? नारायण ने उत्तर दिया, “पृथ्वी पर जाओ, और जिस पहले व्यक्ति से तुम मिलोगे वह तुम्हारा गुरु होगा।

इसलिए, नारद जी ने निर्देशों का पालन किया और पृथ्वी पर चले गए। उसने एक मछुआरे को देखा। नारद जी ने जाकर उनका अभिवादन किया। हालांकि, मछुआरे ने कोई जवाब नहीं दिया। उसका पूरा ध्यान उस जाल पर था जो उसने मछली पकड़ने के लिए फैलाया था। नारद जी पूछते रहे, लेकिन मछुआरे ने कोई जवाब नहीं दिया। यह सिलसिला लंबे समय तक चलता रहा। मछुआरों का सारा ध्यान नेट पर था।

अंत में, एक मछली पकड़ने के बाद, मछुआरे ने नारद जी को जवाब दिया, पूछा कि नारद जी उनके पास क्यों आए। नारद जी को बहुत आश्चर्य हुआ। यह व्यक्ति मेरा गुरु कैसे हो सकता है? लेकिन चूंकि नारायण और लक्ष्मी जी ने मुझसे कहा कि तुम जिस पहले व्यक्ति से मिलोगे वह मेरा गुरु होगा, मुझे उसका पालन करना होगा।

नारद जी ने मछुआरे से पूछा, “क्या तुम मेरे गुरु बनोगे? मछुआरे ने जवाब दिया, “हाँ, क्यों नहीं?

नारद जी ने तब पूछा, “क्या आप भी जानते हैं कि गुरु होने का क्या मतलब है?

मछुआरे ने जवाब दिया, “पहले मुझे बताओ कि आप कहाँ से आए हैं?

नारद जी ने कहा, “मैं नारायण जी और लक्ष्मी जी के दर्शन करके आया हूं।

एक मछुआरे ने पूछा, “क्या तुमने स्वर्ग और नरक देखा है? नारद जी ने जवाब दिया, हां।

मछुआरे ने कहा, “यहाँ स्वर्ग और नरक खींचो, फिर उनके बगल में लेट जाओ।

नारद जी ने मछुआरे के निर्देशानुसार किया, क्योंकि अब वह उनके गुरु थे। मन ही मन उन्होंने अभी भी उन्हें गुरु के रूप में स्वीकार नहीं किया था, लेकिन फिर भी उन्होंने आगे बढ़कर वैसा ही किया जैसा उनसे पूछा गया था।

मछुआरे ने कहा, “एक बार इसके चारों ओर घूमो,” जो नारद जी ने किया। तब मछुआरे ने नारद जी को बैठने को कहा।

मछुआरे ने कहा, “अच्छा, अब तुम्हारे सभी शेष शून्य हैं; तुमने मोक्ष प्राप्त कर लिया है।

दिलचस्प बात यह है कि नारद जी ने भी ऐसा ही महसूस किया। उसे लगा कि वह उस पल में नारायण के साथ एक हो गया है। उसने मछुआरे के सामने झुककर उसे आशीर्वाद दिया कि वह भी भगवान के साथ एक हो जाएगा।

नारद जी जैसे ही जा रहे थे, उन्होंने मछुआरे से पूछा, “सब कुछ ठीक है, लेकिन मुझे एक बात बताओ: तुम गुरु कैसे बन गए? मछुआरे ने जवाब दिया, “मछली पकड़कर! जब तुमने आकर मुझे इतनी बार फोन किया, तो मैंने तुम्हारी बात नहीं मानी। मेरा ध्यान पूरी तरह से एक बिंदु पर स्थिर था- वह दिव्य आत्मा के साथ था। मैंने साबित नहीं किया है कि मेरे पास वह ध्यान है, ध्यान या एकाग्रता नहीं है, लेकिन मेरी कुल ऊर्जा उस आत्मा पर केंद्रित थी। बाहरी दुनिया में जो कुछ भी होता है, आपकी मानसिक स्थिति शांत होनी चाहिए।

यहां तक कि नारद जी बाद में गुरु बने और इतने सारे लोगों को गुरु दीक्षा दी। उन्होंने वाल्मीकि, प्रह्लाद, मां जगदम्बा आदि को दीक्षा दी। वह ब्रह्मर्षि बन गया। उनके शब्द इतने सम्मोहक हैं कि नारायण जी भी आज्ञाकारी ढंग से सुनते हैं।

प्रतिक्रियाएँ:

एक महिला ने कहा, “हमारे गुरु ने हमें जो कुछ भी करने के लिए कहा है, उस पर हमें पूरा विश्वास होना चाहिए। जैसे नारद जी ने वही किया जो मछुआरे ने कहा था, और उन्हें लगा कि नारायण और वह एक हैं। शिक्षक ने कहा, “नारद जी जब चाहें नारायण से मिल सकते हैं। वह नारायण के साथ रह सकता है, लेकिन द्वैतवाद अभी भी है। देखिए, “परमेश्वर को देखना”, “परमेश्वर के साथ रहना” और “परमेश्वर के साथ एक हो जाना” के बीच यही अंतर है। नारद जी गुरु के साथ ईश्वर के साथ एकाकार नहीं हो पा रहे थे। महिला ने कहा, “मैं हमेशा तुमसे कहती हूँ कि मुझे परमेश्वर को देखना नहीं है, और तुम मुझे बताओ कि परमेश्वर को देखने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है। भगवान के साथ एक होना महत्वपूर्ण है। शिक्षक ने कहा, “ईश्वर को देखना बहुत छोटी बात है। यह केवल आपकी इंद्रियों को संतुष्ट करेगा। एक बार जब तुम परमेश्वर को देखने में सक्षम हो जाओगे, तो तुम्हारा अहंकार भड़क उठेगा, और मैं तुम्हें परमेश्वर से दूर ले जाऊंगा। इसलिए गुरु आपके लिए ऐसा नहीं चाहते। वह चाहता है कि तुम परमेश्वर के साथ एक हो जाओ।

शिक्षक ने समझाया, “हमें लगता है कि हमारे माता-पिता हमारे गुरु हैं, लेकिन वे शिक्षक हैं, हमारे गुरु नहीं। जो ईश्वर के बाद आते हैं वे माता-पिता होते हैं, लेकिन गुरु ईश्वर से बड़ा होता है। गुरु ही है जो हमें ईश्वर के साथ एक बनाता है। ऐसा बहुत कम होता है कि माता-पिता सतगुरु बन जाएं और उनका बच्चा उनका अनुसरण कर भगवान के साथ एक हो जाए। सतगुरु ही हैं जो आपको बताते हैं कि आप स्वयं भगवान हैं। एक महिला ने कहा, “गुरु हमें रास्ता दिखाते हैं। शिक्षक ने कहा, “गुरु तुम्हें रास्ता नहीं दिखाता। वह तुम्हें ईश्वर के साथ एक बनाता है। अगर आपको लगता है कि गुरु आपको रास्ता दिखाता है, तो आप गलत हैं। गीता आपको रास्ता भी दिखाती है, लेकिन यह आपको भगवान के साथ एक नहीं बना सकती। गुरु आपको अपनी गोद में उठाते हैं और भगवान के साथ एक बनाते हैं।

एक महिला ने कहा, “जब हमारा समय आएगा, गुरु जी हमारे जीवन में आएंगे। हमें अंदर से शांत रहने का अभ्यास करना होगा, भले ही हमारे आसपास कुछ भी हो रहा हो। शिक्षक ने कहा, “हम जो अभ्यास करते हैं, वह यह है कि आप एक विराम ले रहे हैं। जब हम रुकते हैं, तो हमारे विचार रुक जाते हैं, और यह हमें अंदर से शांत बनाता है। महिला ने कहा, “मैं सोच रही थी कि जब हम एक विराम लेते हैं, तो हमारे विचार वास्तव में आना बंद हो जाते हैं। इसका मतलब है कि हम अपने विचारों को रोकने में सक्षम हैं, लेकिन हमने उन्हें रोकने का फैसला नहीं किया। शिक्षक ने कहा, “हाँ, हम अपने विचारों को रोक सकते हैं। अगर हम 1 मिलीसेकंड के लिए अपने विचार को रोक सकते हैं, तो हम इसे 1 घंटे के लिए भी रोक सकते हैं। महिला ने कहा, हां, हमारे पास अभ्यास की कमी है।

एक लड़के ने कहा, “गुरु जी हमारे जीवन में आए हैं, और उन्होंने हमें सही रास्ता दिखाया है। जो कुछ भी हो रहा है, वह कर रहे हैं। कहानी में मुझे ऐसा लग रहा था कि नारद जी को गुरु खोजने और भगवान के साथ एकजुट होने का अवसर तब आया जब वह मुड़े। एक बार जब नारद जी भगवान के साथ एक हो गए, तो उन्होंने कई अन्य लोगों को भगवान का एहसास करने में मदद की। मैंने जो समझा है वह यह है कि पहले हमें भगवान के साथ एक होना होगा, फिर हमें दूसरों की मदद करनी चाहिए। यह स्वार्थी तरीके से नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि इस सोच के साथ होना चाहिए कि हम गुरुजी का काम कर रहे हैं। शिक्षक ने कहा, “आपने एक सुंदर बिंदु खरीदा है। इस धरती पर बहुत सारे संत रहते हैं जो पहले से ही भगवान के साथ एक हो गए हैं, लेकिन वे किसी का मार्गदर्शन नहीं करते हैं। जब कोई उन्हें देखने जाता है, तो वे केवल अपनी इच्छाओं को पूरा करते हैं और दूसरों को परमेश्वर के साथ एक बनाने के लिए आवश्यक बोझ नहीं उठाते हैं। यह एक स्वार्थी कार्य है। गुरु अलग-अलग प्रकार के होते हैं। एक है आत्माक्रिद, और दूसरा है आत्मराती। आत्माराती आपको भगवान के साथ एक कर देगी, लेकिन केवल तभी जब आप उनसे भीख मांगेंगे। वह स्वेच्छा से किसी के लिए आग में नहीं जाएगा। दूसरा हमारे गुरु जी की तरह आत्माक्रिद है। जो स्वयं आग में कूद गया और अभी भी हमें परमेश्वर के साथ एक होने में मदद कर रहा है। जैसा कि गुरु जी ने कहा था, “मैं आपको अपने जैसा बना रहा हूं,” जिसका अर्थ है कि वह हम सभी को आत्मकृद बना रहे हैं। एक दिन हम सब ईश्वर के साथ एक हो जाएंगे और दूसरों को भी उसी रास्ते पर चलने देंगे। जब तुम परमेश्वर के साथ एक हो जाओगे, तो यह इस बात पर निर्भर करता है कि तुम कितने समर्पण कर रहे हो।
