According to ancient Islamic history, Prophet Mohammed-peace-be-upon-him was forced to leave Meccā to Medinā. He was born in Meccā and grew there as a youngster. When He spent forty years over a mountain, in deep contemplation, and when Qurāna started revealing itself, He came downhill, and proclaimed to be the “messenger of Allāh“.
Many people believed Him, but, many, rather, dishonoured Him, and even plotted a plan to succumb Him to death. Thus, Prophet decided to leave Meccā. In Medinā, He used to deliver sermons, quoting the presence of Allāh, in His each phrase. More and more population of Medinā started believing in Him.
One night, Allāh gave vision to Prophet Mohammed-peace-be-upon-him. He commanded Him to go back to Meccā, and to convince people about the presence of the divine. If they are forced to fight with the people heading from Meccā, they shall fight for the sake of Allāh. It will be a war for the sake of defense of Thy name. Next day, Prophet communicated about the vision to the followers. The believers’ faith dwindled in the wind of war. All did not agree for a fight. They were only handful, and the army in opposition was equipped with all equipments for battle. Prophet Mohammed-peace-be-upon-him had immense faith in Allāh.
The armies left from their respective camps, and met each other, in Badr, a place lying in approximate geographical midway between Meccā and Medinā. The armies’ strength was unmatched, they were in imbalance. But, Allāh is great. He sent four thousands of angels as the part of the army from Medinā. They started rendering heavy precipitation of stones. Prophet Mohammed could see the angels, but others could not. But, they could see the hail of pebbles.
Many soldiers of the opposition army died, many were injured, many could manage to escape. Even, fourteen people were martyred, belonging to the army, headed by Prophet Mohammed-peace-be-upon-him (Allāh is not partial, the battle is ought to be of equivalence).
This was a legendary battle, held in the holy month of Ramazāna. Usually, there is ceasefire during this period, as people fast at this time. This battle fought on 17th of the holy month, was a historic war, led by angels from the abode. This declared the victory of Allāh over ignorance.
Faith renders valour, and ignorance engulfs us into illusion of death. We are forced to die, but, we are born again, till we merge with the Divine Oneness.
