Accept the Divine Will

This is the case study based on the lives of few people. The first three (P1 to P3) people are given a test, of remaining without food for a day. The next three (P4 to P6) have to appear in an academic examination.

Satoguna (Purity)Rajoguna (Doership)Tamoguna (Ignorance)
(P1) The man considers the punishment as a penance, in the Name of the Lord.(P2) The man leaves home for work, and works day and night, returns back, fatigued and sleeps without food. He had a mentality of ‘I’.(P3) The man creates menace in the society and renounces food for a day, out of worthless wrath.
(P4) The child takes the challenge of exams as a service to Almighty.(P5) He works day and night and waits for the sparkling results.(P6) He thinks that his destiny is fixed, so he sleeps all day, before the exams.

All the people posed diverse attitudes. The people with Saatvic attributes accepted the terms of Lord, and carried out the tasks with zeal for Lord. The second set, Rajasic people were dedicated to their tasks, but their mind dwelt in materialistic findings. The third set were blinded by ignorance and darkness. They were lethargic towards their duties.
All these people were tested for exploring their virtues. The seeds which we sow, shall we reap. But, attitudes varied. Destiny was fixed but, the Tamasic person accumulated the most sufferings for future. The Rajasic person had to face problems, because of his ego. The first one cherished his future and reaped sweet fruits.

All the three attributes are rendered in our personalities. But, it depends on us, the virtues we use to tackle them.

The Death is fixed

The time and place of death is fixed. It depends on us, that how we take it? Only the will of Divinity is executed in the universe. It is our choice that we accept it readily or create chaos and ask Lord, to lighten our problems. If we accept the circumstances wholeheartedly, we shall be redeemed from the problems, and will surely merge with Eternity. The heaven and hell won’t bind us.

Let us see few parables which shall expose the acceptance of few great sages, who led a life for Lord, and died for Lord, with their last words of glories to Lord.

Parable 1:

This story will elaborate the concept of forgiveness and devotion for the commands of Lord.

The story of devoted king- Parikshit

When Parikshit was in his mother’s womb, one of the enemies (from the party of Kauravas) shot a weapon, which could kill him in the womb. But, Sri Krishna faced the weapon and save the boy. He was grandson of Arjuna. He ruled the kingdom wisely for forty-four years. After his reign ended, the Era of falsehood, viz, Kaliyuga commenced. Sri Krishna was his Guru, and had received His blessings, when he was in his womb. His life was totally devoted to Lord. His actions always cherished nature and its creations. Chanting and meditation were the part of personality.
One day, he thought he should wear the crown of his ancestors and adore its beauty. He went into the hall of his ancestors and wore the most magnificent crown present. The crown belonged to a very cruel king. As he wore the headgear, something resonated in his brain, and he decided to go for a hunt in the forest. He rushed to the forest, but couldn’t find any prey (because of his goodness). After hours of search, he was thirsty and found a hermitage of a sage. He went to the place and asked for some water. He called aloud, but sage didn’t respond as he was deep meditation. In anger (as he was wearing that headgear which belonged to a cruel king), the king flipped a carcass of a snake around the saint’s neck. Seeing the act, a little boy ran towards river Ganga, and told about the action to the saint’s son, who was bathing at the ghats. The son was horrified and cursed the king, while he was bathing. He hailed that Parikshit would die within seven days, by the poison of the similar snake. As he cursed the king, the frequencies of vibrations shook the sage out of his meditative state. He ran towards the banks and asked his son the reason of cursing a pious king. The son was scared. He apologized but, he was left helpless, as he could not revert the curse. Parikshit paid respects to the sage and rushed towards his palace. He offered the kingdom, in the hands of his successors and returned to the banks of Ganga, for penance. He thought if death is declared, to be at his doorstep within seven days, he would devote his remaining hours of breathes in pondering over Lord. He meditated with perseverance, and found a Guru within those seven days, and finally merged with Eternity, before the snake could bite him.

MORAL: The death was fixed. And, the king was aware about the reality. He neither pleaded for his forgiveness before the sage, nor did he pray to Lord for saving his life, as was saved in mother’s womb. He accepted the Divine command and united with Unified Eternity.

There is discourse about Prophet Ayuub in Quran. It is mentioned that his breathes in life were dedicated to Lord. He had a skin disorder, in which painful sores and decay afflicted his body. Worms crawled across the abscesses and decay expanded till the deepest of the tissues. But, he rejoiced over the pains and thanked Allah. Whenever the worms slipped out of the wounds and fell on the ground, he used to pick them up and place them back on the sores, for they may not die of hunger, without food.

The virtues of Prophet Ayuub tell us that acceptance of Divine will, and devotion shall drift our boats to the Ocean of Eternity. May we ask Lord to give us strength to bear the circumstances and remember Him, in all phases of Life. Prayers for minimizing the problems in a grave sin.
He has given us free will and has called us the ‘Jewel of Creations’. He has rendered the will, for we may use it wisely. Animals do not have this will. They have to suffer in the fixed manner. A dog will not take a bite of most delicious meat, if he is suffering from indigestion. It searches for grass and cleans his entrails and then, is ready to taste the delicacies. It never suffers from lifestyle disorders, as we do, as it knows the limitations of his physical boundaries. It never consumes things, which can harm it. So, it is shameful on our part, to deteriorate our will, to the worst stratas.
