After my serious condition had unfortunately worsened I was taken to the hospital with the help of my caring parents. I was on my hospital bed with my mom standing beside me nearly falling into tears into an infinity waterfall. I was in ward 23 next to ward 24 which a nurse told me an old man was there next to a window. At first I was quite jealous as I could hear him saying
‘’Aww look at those birds chirping by and that tree filled with fruit’’
My parents came every day to my ward to check on me and give me their tremendous amount of support and give me a kiss when they left.

Day by day, I could hear the old man describing an intriguing view from his scenic window.
‘’Wow just look at the sun it rises every day reaching the skyline-silver sky and the furthest tree from here filled with apples”
Lucky him I thought at least he has a window to look outside and relax and I have nothing, I felt disappointed and wished my parents had enough money to afford the other side of the ward with windows and all I had to look at some plain curtains on one side and on the other side was a brick wall.

I finally got the courage to talk to the nurse about this old man. She replied he suffered from a heart attack and he is 85 and apparently rich this explains why he got a bed beside the window.
A rough week had passed and the old man was nowhere to be seen the nurse explained he had another heart attack and died and I will now be moving to his ward, I felt a bit sad but a bit elated as she pulled my bed over to his ward…

I was in shock, the scenic window had been blocked by a wall and I asked the nurse what did the old man see? What about those birds? What about the sun and the tree filled with fruits? She then explained, he had created all those, he created all that beauty; he had nobody but he had everybody. He was in so much pain and suffering but he always felt light-hearted and joyous. My eyes began to water first into a stream then a lake as I was complaining and jealous of him..
I learnt a precious lesson from the old man…

Keep beauty in all you sense
