Being Shiva

… Shiva Ji ……

… went into deep samadhi. He ascended to the plane of the Ultimate transcendental state.

During those days, a demon, Taarkaasura fostered in the underworld.

He practiced deep penance and finally pleased Brahma ji. He asked for a boon. He appealed for ensuring his death in the hands of the descendent of Shiva. Boon was rendered.

Taarkaasura was joyful, and stealthily conquered the thrones of the underworld and the zone of the mortals, the earth. But, …..

His presence was not welcomed by the demigods, flourishing in the heavens. The king of heaven, Indra Dev was anxious.

All the devas clustered together and pleaded to Brahma Ji, for diluting the aftermaths of the boon.

Brahma Ji could not alter the gift rendered.

They decided to bring Lord Shiv to the gross plane of consciousness, disrupting the meditative state.

They needed some agent to carry out the task.

After hours of discussions,…….

…… Kaamdev (Lord of Lust) was appointed for the task.

All the Gods asked him, to convulse the state of Shiva Ji, for He comes down from the subtle state.

Kamadev was scared, but on several requests, he agreed. Trembling in fear, he reached Kailash and hid amidst the canopy of a tree.

Then, with all his supernatural powers, he hit a twig at Lord Shiva‘s glabella, the eyebrow center.

As a force agitated the point,…

……the third eye opened up. Rage flooded out, and Lord tilted His head, found the culprit.

A gush of intense light burnt…..

…….Kaamdev into ashes.

Soon, his wife came running and started whining in tears. She whimpered and asked Lord to return back her consort.

Lord Shiv agreed and freed them to conquer the hearts of the mortals. Kaamdev and his wife left paying respects to Lord.

From that day, lust annexes the minds of the mortals. Life ends up, being a production factory. If we overrun the nets and chains of this illusionary world, remembering Him across the course, we shall be the source, Shiv ourselves.
