Let us see few lively experiences, which we often encounter in our daily regime.
There are two little brothers in a family. The elder one is a school-aged boy, and has learned the grammar and vocabulary in his schooling. The another one is just a toddler. He has just began enunciating certain syllables, and has began walking in a dwindling gait. Their father returns back from office, in evening. The elder boy runs towards him, and says, “Papa…” and hugs him. Father loves him dearly. Then, the little one appears from the room in a dwindling gait, and says, “Baaaba…”. Father runs towards the boy and lifts him up in his arms and kisses him. |
This experience tells us that we ought to acquire child-like innocence. Excessive analysis of the scriptures builds ego in us. We think ourselves as pandits and soon, are drifted away from Lord. But, the one who does not read anything and loves Lord for Him, and says nothing except few syllables is a true devotee. This does not mean that we should not read them. The positive vibs of the verses works immensely in our spiritual upliftment. We should not think to understand the scriptures with our logics. Few nectar-like words of a Satguru are sufficient to make us realize the Self (receiving end is needed). Guru Granth Sahib says, “Pothi padhi padhi jag mua, pandit bhaya na koi. Dhaayi akhar prem ka, padhe so pandit hoye.”
Father and his son have to cross a narrow bridge, the width of the bridge can only allow two lean individuals to walk side by side. Child holds his father’s hand. He dwindles, and is scared. Then, his father holds his hand, and soon the fear disappeared. |
Lets us allow Lord to hold us in his arms and he will make us row through all the rages of the worldly oceans. We need not hold his hand.
