Gadadhar is in the coach with Mathur Babu, moving towards Kashi. The coachman drives the coach slowly. As the coach enters the borders of Kashi, Gadadhar enters a different realm. In this state of ecstasy, he jumps out of the coach. Mathur Babu shouts, “Hridaya! Coachman! Fetch him.” Before Hridaya and the coachman can get out of the coach, Gadadhar enters the waters of Ganga. Mathur Babu, Hridaya and, the coachman come following him. They find him as stiff as a ramrod. They try to move him but in vain. Mathur Babu sprinkles some water on his face and, Gadadhar comes back to the gross plane of consciousness.
Then suddenly, he runs towards the Manikarnika Ghat, the bank of Ganga, where people perform final rites for their lost beloved ones. Gadadhar enters into the midst of several burning pyres. Mathur Babu, Hridaya, and the coachman come running behind him. They become tensed seeing Baba in this state. Gadadhar stands over the red-hot cinders of one of the pyres, then becomes still as a ramrod again. The fire does not burn him. The people in grief for their loved ones see Shiva in Gadadhar amidst the burning pyre. People have the faith that their loved ones shall unite with Shiva if they perform the final rituals for their loved ones on Manikarnika Ghat. Thus, they see Shiva. Mathur Babu tries to bring Gadadhar back to the gross plane again and then grasps him tightly so that he doesn’t run away again. Mathur Babu takes him to the place where he has to participate in a meeting with Kashi Naresh.
Baba and Mathur Babu take a shower and have some food. Mathur Babu prepares for the meeting and finally meets Kashi Naresh. Gadadhar is lost in his world. He sits in the conference room silently. Mathur Babu and Kashi Naresh talk about materialism and, this irritates Gadadhar. He says, “Mother! Where have you brought me? Even in this land of Kashi, people prefer to talk about the world. I shall not stay here.” Baba runs away. Mathur Babu tries to apologize and brings Baba back.
While there lives an old mother in the same city of Kashi. She is a realized soul and a famous being. She comes to Gadadhar to Kashi Naresh and says, “Radha Rani has come in the land of Kashi.” She touches Baba’s feet often. Though Gadadhar is a teenager now and Mother is sixty-eight years old, still, she touches his feet. Gadadhar says to Mathur Babu, “I shall stay with mother here. I shall not go back.” Mathur Babu insists but in vain. Hridaya says, “He frequently suffers from an upset stomach. He requires bland food prepared separately.” Mother says, “Don’t worry. I shall prepare bland rice for him.” Soon, all the learned people assemble near Mother’s hut and a grand Satsang. Mother says, “He is an incarnation of Radha Rani.” People discuss and, Satsang proceeds for several days. But, he sits still as a baby listening to the conversation with Mother. Finally, they conclude that Baba is an incarnation.
Mathur Babu hears about Baba as an incarnation. He feels proud and says, “I used to say that my Baba is the one. No one believed me.” Sometimes he believes that Gadadhar is the incarnation and sometimes takes him as an ordinary boy.
Moral: Gadadhar plays differently entering Kashi to prove the prevalence of the same energy in different forms. People see Shiva in Baba and, Mother sees Radha Rani in Baba. People experience Lord in the form they wish; He is in form as well as, the formless. Bhava is important. Jaki Rahi Bhavna Jaisi, Prabhu Murat Dekhe Vo Vaisi…
People fear death. But, Shiva is Mahakaal, the grand death, the one who surpasses death. Death is getting rid of the cage of the body. It is worthless to grieve over death.
