Divine Impact of Guru’s Words

Tumharo Mantra Vibheeshan Mane. Lankeshwar Bhaye Sub Jag Jane

When Hanuman Ji reached Lanka, he saw one hut on which Ram Ji’s name was written. Hanuman Ji started to wonder how it was possible that in Ravan’s kingdom someone was devoted to Ram Ji. He came down and went to that hut to see who was living there. He saw Vibheeshan Ji inside that hut, and they became friends as they both were devoted to Ram Ji.

Before Hanuman Ji meet Vibheeshan Ji, he was already devoted to Ram Ji. What new mantra would Hanuman Ji have given Vibheeshan, who was already known as Ram? What happened after Hanuman Ji’s visit to Lanka and Vibheeshan Ji got everything?  When he met him, Hanuman Ji did not give him any mantras or teachings directly. Hanuman Ji only asked Vibheeshan Ji, “Do you know where Sita Mata is and where to find Ashok Vatika?”  

In Hanuman Chalisa, we hear, “Tumharo Mantra Vibheeshan Mana Lankeshwar Bhaye Sub Jag Jane.” Hanuman Ji has not given any mantras; then which mantra did Vibheeshan Ji follow and become one with God? When Hanuman was brought in front of Ravan, Hanuman Ji told Ravan to give back Sita Mata, surrender in front of Shri Ram Ji, and we will give back your kingdom to you. Ravan did not listen to Hanuman Ji’s words, but Vibheeshan Ji listened to them. Vibheeshan understood that if I devoted myself to Shri Ram Ji, I would get the kingdom and be one with God.

“Lankeshwar Bhaye Sub Jag Jane.” What signifies Lankeshwar here? We think it means King of Lanka, no. Does Rameshwara mean King of Ram? It means Lank’s God (Ishwar), and it is Shiv Ji. We all know Ravan’s guru was Shiv Ji, and he was a devotee of Shiv Ji. Lankeshwar means becoming Shiv himself, to become one with infinite concussions.

How was this possible for Vibheeshan Ji to be one with divinity after following Hanuman Ji’s word? When the words come out of the person who is the realised soul, then those words work wonders in our lives. Now when you take Ram Nam, you will become one with God. Previously, Vibheeshan Ji was taking Ram Ji’s name, but after believing in Hanuman Ji’s words, Ram Naam worked wonders for him. That’s why we need Sat Guru in our lives.

“Jai Jai Jai Hanuman Gosahin, Kripa Karahu Gurudev Ki Nyahin.” Why is Hanuman Ji Guru here? “Sankar Suvan Kesri Nandan”: Shankar Ji is the Guru of Ravan, and Shiv Ji himself is incarnated as Hanuman Ji. Ravan did a lot of wrong deeds in his lifetime, but in the end, he became one with his Guru Shiv Ji. That is what the guru’s love is for his devotees. Have complete faith in your guru’s word and follow it as instructed.

• Someone said, “If we follow what our Guru has taught us, word for word, we can be one with God. Hanuman Ji said to Ravan, but Vibheeshan Ji took those words, followed them, and became one with Shiv Ji.” Teacher explained, “It was not that easy for Vibheeshan to follow Hanuman Ji’s word. He has to go through a lot to become Lankeshwar. Ravan kicked him out of his kingdom. We believe we are taking God’s name, so we should have no trouble. God wanted to take him away from Maya; on his own, he would not have left his kingdom, so God helped him come out of the kingdom.” Someone said, “But then he followed whatever was taught to him completely.” Teacher said, “There was no other option for him but to go to Ram Ji.”

• Someone said, “It’s true that we should follow whatever the guru is teaching us. I believe we should not take Ram naam to demonstrate to someone that I am taking Ram naam for the entire day. Remembering God in every breath is more important.” Teacher replied, “Yes, it will not help you in any way if you are taking Ram Naam just to show others. Take his name in your heart and what inside your heart only Ram Ji knows that.” Someone said, “The second thing which I understood is that like Vibheeshan Ji was kicked out of the kingdom by Ravan and ended Vibheeshan Ji’s ego. Things happen to us in the same way. Every day someone kicks our ego and tells us you are nobody. But in place of letting go our ego gets more hurt and we suffer more.” Teacher again explained, “Here one egoistic kicked a saint out of the kingdom. As an egoistic kicking a saint, the small ego left in the saint also got destroyed and became one with God. Getting kicked by an egoist is better than getting kicked by a saint. Saint will kick you with love.” Someone said, “We all get kicked, but we become more egoistic. how that person can say these things to me. We get kicked so that we can understand that we are nobody. The soul is the truth.” Teacher again explained, “That person is shouting at you that you are nobody, but still, you are not believing that you are nobody. Believe it, you are nobody.”

• Someone said, “What I use to understand from “Lankeshwar Bhaye Sub Jag Jane” was that Vibheeshan Ji become king of Lanka.” Teacher explained, “It’s the wrong understanding. What is the meaning of Lankeshwar? Rameshwar means?” Someone replied, “Ram k Ishwar.” Teacher asked, “Then what is the meaning of Lankeshwar?” Someone replied, “Ishwar of Lanka.”  Teacher again asked, “So who is Ishwar of Lanka then.” Someone replied, “Shiv.” Teacher again asked, “Who is Ram Ji’s Ishwar?” Someone replied, “Shiv.” Teacher again asked, “What did Vibheeshan Ji become at the end?” Someone replied, “Shiv. Now I understand clearly.” Teacher again asked, “But how did he become Shiv? Tumharo Mantra Vibheeshan Mane: No mantra was given by Hanuman Ji to Vibheeshan Ji. For years, he had been taking Ram naam. Hanuman Ji taught Ravan he should take Ram naam but Vibheeshan Ji understood that I had to start taking Ram naam from the heart. Once he started taking Ram naam from his heart, he was taken away from Maya by being thrown out of his kingdom. Now, following what was taught by Hanuman Ji, he went to Ram Ji. There, whatever ego remained was destroyed, and he became Shiva.”

गुरु के शब्दों का दिव्य प्रभाव

तुम्हारो मंत्र विभीषण माना। लंकेश्वर भये सब जग जाने

जब हनुमान जी लंका पहुंचे तो उन्होंने एक कुटिया देखी जिस पर राम जी का नाम लिखा हुआ था। हनुमान जी आश्चर्य करने लगे कि ऐसा कैसे हो सकता है कि रावण के राज्य में कोई राम जी का भक्त हो। वह नीचे आया और उस झोंपड़ी में गया यह देखने के लिए कि वहां कौन रह रहा है। उन्होंने उस कुटिया के अंदर विभीषण जी को देखा और वे दोनों राम जी के भक्त बन गए।

हनुमान जी विभीषण जी से मिलने से पहले ही राम जी के भक्त हो चुके थे। पहले से ही राम के नाम से जाने जाने वाले विभीषण को हनुमान जी ने क्या नया मंत्र दिया होगा? हनुमान जी की लंका यात्रा के बाद क्या हुआ और विभीषण जी को सब कुछ मिल गया? हनुमान जी जब उनसे मिले तो उन्होंने सीधे उन्हें कोई मंत्र या उपदेश नहीं दिया। हनुमान जी ने केवल विभीषण जी से पूछा, “क्या आप जानते हैं कि सीता माता कहाँ हैं और अशोक वाटिका कहाँ मिलेगी?”

हनुमान चालीसा में हम सुनते हैं कि “तुम्हारो मंत्र विभीषण मन लंकेश्वर भये सब जग जाने।” हनुमान जी ने कोई मंत्र नहीं दिया है; तो विभीषण जी किस मंत्र का पालन करके भगवान से एकाकार हो गए? जब हनुमान को रावण के सामने लाया गया तो हनुमान जी ने रावण से कहा कि सीता माता को वापस कर दो, श्री राम जी के सामने आत्मसमर्पण कर दो, और हम तुम्हें तुम्हारा राज्य वापस दे देंगे। रावण ने हनुमान जी की बात नहीं मानी, लेकिन विभीषण जी ने सुनी। विभीषण समझ गया कि यदि मैं श्री राम जी की भक्ति करूँ तो मुझे राज्य भी प्राप्त होगा और साथ ही भगवान से भी एकरूप हो जाऊँगा।

“लंकेश्वर भये सूब जग जाने।” यहाँ लंकेश्वर का क्या अर्थ है? हमें लगता है कि इसका मतलब लंका का राजा है, नहीं। क्या रामेश्वर का मतलब राम का राजा है? यानी लंका का भगवान (ईश्वर) और वो है शिव जी। हम सभी जानते हैं कि रावण के गुरु शिव जी थे और वह शिव जी के भक्त थे। लंकेश्वर का अर्थ है स्वयं शिव बन जाना, अनंत संघातों से युक्त हो जाना।

हनुमान जी की बात मानकर विभीषण जी का देवत्व से एकाकार होना कैसे संभव हुआ? जब उस व्यक्ति के मुख से शब्द निकलते हैं जो कि साक्षात्कारी आत्मा है, तो वे शब्द हमारे जीवन में अद्भुत काम करते हैं। अब जब आप राम नाम लेंगे तो आप भगवान के साथ एक हो जाएंगे। पहले विभीषण जी राम जी का नाम ले रहे थे, लेकिन हनुमान जी की बात मानकर राम नाम ने उन पर कमाल कर दिया। इसलिए हमें अपने जीवन में सतगुरु की आवश्यकता है।

“जय जय जय हनुमान गोसाहिन, कृपा करहु गुरुदेव की न्यायिन।” क्यों हैं हनुमान जी गुरु यहां? “संकर सुवन केसरी नंदन”  शंकर जी रावण के गुरु हैं, और शिव जी स्वयं हनुमान जी के रूप में अवतरित हुए हैं। रावण ने अपने जीवनकाल में बहुत से गलत कर्म किए, लेकिन अंत में वह अपने गुरु शिव जी के साथ एक हो गया। अपने भक्तों के लिए गुरु का प्रेम ऐसा ही होता है। अपने गुरु के वचन पर पूर्ण विश्वास रखें और उसका पालन करें।

• किसी ने कहा है, “हमारे गुरु ने हमें जो सिखाया है, अगर हम उसका अक्षरशः पालन करें, तो हम ईश्वर के साथ एक हो सकते हैं। हनुमान जी ने रावण से कहा, लेकिन विभीषण जी ने उन शब्दों को लिया, उनका पालन किया और शिव जी के साथ एक हो गए। शिक्षक ने समझाया, “हनुमान जी की बात मान लेना विभीषण के लिए इतना आसान नहीं था। लंकेश्वर बनने के लिए उन्हें काफी कुछ करना पड़ा है। रावण ने उसे अपने राज्य से बाहर निकाल दिया। हम मानते हैं कि हम भगवान का नाम ले रहे हैं, इसलिए हमें कोई परेशानी नहीं होनी चाहिए। भगवान उसे माया से दूर ले जाना चाहते थे; अपने दम पर, वह अपने राज्य को नहीं छोड़ता, इसलिए परमेश्वर ने उसे राज्य से बाहर आने में मदद की।” किसी ने कहा, “लेकिन फिर उसे जो सिखाया गया, उसका पूरा पालन किया।” शिक्षक ने कहा, “उनके पास राम जी के पास जाने के अलावा और कोई विकल्प नहीं था।”

• किसी ने कहा, “यह सच है कि गुरु हमें जो सिखा रहे हैं, हमें उसका पालन करना चाहिए। मेरा मानना ​​है कि हमें किसी को यह दिखाने के लिए राम नाम नहीं लेना चाहिए कि मैं पूरे दिन राम नाम ले रहा हूं। हर सांस में भगवान को याद करना अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है। ” गुरु ने उत्तर दिया, “हाँ, यदि आप केवल दूसरों को दिखाने के लिए राम नाम ले रहे हैं तो इससे आपको कोई मदद नहीं मिलेगी। अपने दिल में उनका नाम लें और आपके दिल में क्या है यह राम जी ही जानते हैं।” किसी ने कहा, “दूसरी बात जो मेरी समझ में आई कि जैसे विभीषण जी को रावण ने राज्य से बाहर निकाल दिया और विभीषण जी का अहंकार समाप्त कर दिया। हमारे साथ भी कुछ ऐसा ही होता रहता है। रोज कोई न कोई हमारे अहंकार को लात मारता है और कहता है कि तुम कोई नहीं हो।” लेकिन जाने देने के स्थान पर हमारे अहंकार को अधिक चोट लगती है और हम अधिक पीड़ित होते हैं।” गुरु ने फिर समझाया, “यहाँ एक अहंकारी ने एक संत को राज्य से बाहर निकाल दिया। जैसे एक अहंकारी ने एक संत को लात मारी, संत का बचा हुआ छोटा-सा अहंकार भी नष्ट हो गया और भगवान के साथ एक हो गया। अहंकारी द्वारा लात मारना बेहतर है, अहंकारी द्वारा लात मारने से बेहतर है” संत। संत तुम्हें प्यार से लात मारेंगे। किसी ने कहा, “हम सभी को लात लगती है, लेकिन हम और अधिक अहंकारी हो जाते हैं। वह व्यक्ति मुझसे ये बातें कैसे कह सकता है। हमें लात इसलिए लगती है कि हम समझ सकें कि हम कोई नहीं हैं। आत्मा ही सत्य है।” शिक्षक ने फिर समझाया, “वह व्यक्ति तुम पर चिल्ला रहा है कि तुम कोई नहीं हो, लेकिन फिर भी, तुम विश्वास नहीं कर रहे हो कि तुम कोई नहीं हो। विश्वास करो, तुम कोई नहीं हो।”

• किसी ने कहा, “लंकेश्वर भये सूब जग जाने” से मुझे जो समझ में आता है वह यह था कि विभीषण जी लंका के राजा बने। शिक्षक ने समझाया, “यह गलत समझ है। लंकेश्वर का अर्थ क्या है? रामेश्वर का अर्थ है?” किसी ने जवाब दिया, “राम के ईश्वर।” शिक्षक ने पूछा, “फिर लंकेश्वर का क्या अर्थ है?” किसी ने उत्तर दिया, “लंका का ईश्वर।” गुरु ने फिर पूछा, “तो लंका का ईश्वर कौन है?” किसी ने उत्तर दिया, “शिव।” गुरु जी ने फिर पूछा, “कौन हैं राम जी के ईश्वर?” किसी ने उत्तर दिया, “शिव।” गुरु ने फिर पूछा, “आखिर में विभीषण जी क्या बन गए?” किसी ने उत्तर दिया, “शिव। अब मैं स्पष्ट रूप से समझता हूँ।” गुरु ने फिर पूछा, “लेकिन ये शिव कैसे बने? तुम्हारो मंत्र विभीषण माने: हनुमान जी ने विभीषण जी को कोई मंत्र नहीं दिया था। वर्षों से वे राम नाम लेते आ रहे थे। हनुमान जी ने रावण को समझाया कि राम नाम लो लेकिन विभीषण जी समझ गए कि मुझे दिल से राम नाम लेना शुरू करना है। एक बार जब उन्होंने राम नाम को अपने दिल से लेना शुरू किया, तो उन्हें अपने राज्य से बाहर निकाल कर माया से दूर कर दिया गया। अब हनुमान जी के उपदेश का पालन करते हुए वे राम जी के पास गए। वहाँ जो कुछ अहंकार रह गया वह नष्ट हो गया और विभीषण जी शिव बन गए।
