One day a yogi was walking on the beach. He saw a crab lying outside the water and struggling to survive. The yogi picked up the crab and put it back into the sea . While doing so the crab bit the yogi badly. After sometime he saw the crab outside again. The yogi did the same and so did the crab. This happened a few times.
One of his disciples could not resist himself and asked the yogi, “Every time you are helping the crab, it is biting you, why are you still helping him?”
The yogi replied “biting is the habit of the crab and compassion is my habit . If he is not leaving his bad habit, why should i leave my good habit?”
Moral of the story
We should not believe in tit for tat and we should do good to everyone irrespective of their behavior towards us.
