In Calcutta, there is a lawyer who is a down-to-earth being. His wife is a deep devotee of Lord Shiva, rather remains dipped in the bliss of Shiva. They have three daughters and are contented. But, the pressure from society forces them to bear a son.
The mother prays to Lord Shiva, “As I have to survive in the society, give your form to us, as a son.” The time comes, and she is pregnant. During the pregnancy period of nine months, she remains in the ecstasy of Shivaness. No words can describe the experience.
The time comes, and she delivers a baby boy named Narendra. Three-year-old Narendra enjoys the world plays with his friends but practices sadhana. One day, the young children are playing, but suddenly they see Narendra sitting still as a ramrod. They also see a black cobra approaching him. Out of fear, children run to call Narendra’s parents. His parents don’t come as they have a firm belief in Shiva. Mother believes, “Thou have come. Thou shall go. Thou shall take care of Thy form.” Soon, the snake goes back into its hole.
The children shake Narendra and ask, “Weren’t you scared?” Narendra opens his eyes and says, “What should have scared me?” They say, “Couldn’t you hear the hissing of such an enormous snake?” Narendra replies, “So what?” He feels as if nothing has happened.
Moral: Narendra was blessed with such fearlessness from his tender age because of his mother’s faith in Shiva. No one can harm us, as Shiva is always with us.
- We are Shiva from within, irrespective of the external appearance.
- We must do everything being dependent on Lord, as Narendra’s mother.
- Everything is prewritten in destiny. But, good karma can change destiny. Bad Karma can deteriorate destiny.
- Why do we fear some specific objects? In the previous births, we might have died because of those things and hence, are impregnated in the subconscious mind. But, faith in Lord washes all the sanskaras.
- We fear things if we hear about their specific toxic properties. But, a child can play with snakes as he is unaware of the toxic properties of the snake. Nothing is harmful except the mind. Thus, we should be fearless like a child.
- Until we harm others, we never receive the poison. Even the most poisonous creatures do not harm us until we harm them.

माँ भगवान शिव से प्रार्थना करती है, “जैसा कि मुझे समाज में जीवित रहना है, अपना रूप हमें एक पुत्र के रूप में दे दो।” समय आता है, और वे गर्भवती हैं। नौ महीने की गर्भावस्था अवधि के दौरान, वे शिव के परमानंद में रहती हैं। कोई भी शब्द अनुभव का वर्णन नहीं कर सकता।
समय आता है, और वे नरेंद्र नाम के एक बच्चे को जन्म देती हैं। तीन साल का नरेंद्र अपने दोस्तों के साथ दुनिया के खेल का आनंद लेता है लेकिन साधना का अभ्यास करता है। एक दिन, छोटे बच्चे खेल रहे हैं, लेकिन अचानक वे नरेंद्र को एक छड़ी के रूप में बैठे हुए देखते हैं। उन्हें एक काला कोबरा भी उसके पास आता हुआ दिखाई देता है। बच्चे डर के मारे नरेंद्र के माता-पिता को बुलाने के लिए दौड़ पड़े। उनके माता-पिता नहीं आते क्योंकि उनका शिव में दृढ़ विश्वास है। माँ का मानना है, “तू आ गया है। तू जाएगा। तू अपने रूप की देखभाल करेगा।” जल्द ही, सांप वापस अपने छेद में चला जाता है।
बच्चे नरेंद्र को हिलाते हैं और पूछते हैं, “क्या तुम डरे नहीं थे?” नरेंद्र ने अपनी आँखें खोली और कहा, “मुझे क्यों डरना चाहिए था?” वे कहते हैं, “क्या तुमने इतने बड़े सांप के फुफकारने की आवाज नहीं सुनी?” नरेंद्र जवाब देते हैं, “तो क्या?” उन्हें लगता है जैसे कुछ हुआ ही नहीं है।
शिक्षा: अपनी माँ की शिव में आस्था के कारण नरेंद्र को अपनी छोटी उम्र से ही ऐसी निडरता का आशीर्वाद मिला था। हमें कोई नुकसान नहीं पहुंचा सकता, क्योंकि शिव हमेशा हमारे साथ हैं।
- हम भीतर से शिव हैं, बाह्य स्वरुप के बावजूद।
- हमें नरेंद्र की मां की तरह भगवान पर निर्भर होकर सब कुछ करना चाहिए।
- भाग्य में सब कुछ पहले से लिखा हुआ है। लेकिन, अच्छे कर्म भाग्य को बदल सकते हैं। बुरे कर्म भाग्य को बिगाड़ सकते हैं।
- हम कुछ विशिष्ट वस्तुओं से क्यों डरते हैं? हो सकता है कि हम उन चीजों के कारण मरे हों और इसलिए, अवचेतन मन में गर्भवती हों। लेकिन, भगवान में विश्वास सभी संस्कारों को धो देता है।
- अगर हम उनके विशिष्ट विषैले गुणों के बारे में सुनते हैं तो हम चीजों से डरते हैं। लेकिन, एक बच्चा सांपों के साथ खेल सकता है क्योंकि वह सांप के जहरीले गुणों से अनजान होता है। मन के अलावा कुछ भी हानिकारक नहीं है। इसलिए हमें बच्चों की तरह निडर होना चाहिए।
- जब तक हम दूसरों को नुकसान नहीं पहुंचाते, तब तक हमें जहर नहीं मिलता। यहां तक कि सबसे जहरीले जीव भी हमें तब तक नुकसान नहीं पहुंचाते जब तक हम उन्हें नुकसान नहीं पहुंचाते।
