Hymn of Glories- Part 11

  1. Rama, Mother Sita, and Lakshmana stayed in Chitrakoot. One day, Rama was embellishing Mother’s hair with flowers. He was as affectionate to her as a son to his mother. There was no element of lust in them. Jayanta Indra Dev’s son saw the act and doubted Rama. He thought to test Rama
  2. He took a form of a crow and flew towards Mother. He pecked his beak at Mother’s toe. Mother felt a pricking pain, but she was silent. Rama became angry (superficially) and shot a tiny pedicle of a flower towards Jayanta. The pedicle appeared as a stern arrow chasing Jayanta. Jayanta flew towards heaven. He thought of taking help from his father. But, Indra banished him from heaven and asked him to take shelter at the Divine feet. He pleaded to other demigods but all denied.
  3. Brahmarishi Narad Ji appeared before him and asked him to accept his mistake. He guided him to ask for forgiveness from Lord. Rama would have killed Jayanta at first sight. But, Rama didn’t do the same but wished to teach him.
  4. Jayanta went to Rama and Mother Sita and asked for forgiveness. Mother Sita forgave him. Rama also forgave him but blinded Jayanta in one eye. Rama said that he should get the taste of the fruits of the seeds he sowed. Moreover, Rama wished to impart one-sightedness to Jayanta so that he could focus his attention on Oneness. We should focus our binocular vision on Oneness.
