Jainism: An Introduction (Authentic and researched—directly from the ‘Tirthankara Vaani’, so not by so-called ‘Jain’ Pandits whose livelihood depends on imposing rituals/customs on Jains.)
Saving Jainism from Jains as the real point/essence is lost in many rituals:
The word ‘Jain’ is derived from Prakrit ‘Jin’, which means to conquer. So, no one is a Jain by birth, anyone who wants to follow the path of conquering self (senses) can become a Jain.
Jainism in two words: “Self-conquest”
Summary:
Jainism does not believe in any ‘God’. There is no provision for worshipping any deity in Jainism. Jainism is semi-atheistic. There are no gods and goddesses in it; there is no God. There are 24 Tirthankaras who have attained Moksha. But there is no Jain sect in which they reside, and they are not to be worshipped, but to be followed.
And not only the Jains who have conquered themselves but all the beings of this universe who are on the path of self-conquest should be followed…
This (self-conquest) is difficult to do, so the Jains get entangled in comparatively simple rituals.
जैन धर्म को जैनियों से बचाना
जैन धर्म- एक परिचय (प्रामाणिक और शोधित – सीधे ‘तीर्थंकर वाणी’ से, इसलिए तथाकथित ‘जैन’ पंडितों द्वारा नहीं, जिनकी आजीविका जैनियों पर अनुष्ठान/ रीति-रिवाज थोपने पर निर्भर करती है)
जैन धर्म को जैनियों से बचाना क्योंकि वास्तविक बिंदु/सार कई अनुष्ठानों में खो गए हैं:
‘जैन’ शब्द प्राकृत के ‘जिन’ से लिया गया है, जिसका अर्थ है जीतना। इसलिए कोई भी जन्म से जैन नहीं होता, जो कोई भी स्वयं पर (इन्द्रियओं) विजय पाने के मार्ग पर चलना चाहता है, वह जैन बन सकता है।
जैन धर्म दो शब्दों में: “स्व-विजय”
सारांश:
जैन धर्म किसी ‘ईश्वर’ में विश्वास नहीं करता। जैन धर्म में किसी भी देवता की पूजा करने का विधान भी नहीं है। जैन धर्म अर्ध-नास्तिक है। इसमें कोई देवी-देवता नहीं हैं; न ही कोई ईश्वर है। 24 तीर्थंकर हैं जिन्होंने मोक्ष प्राप्त किया है। लेकिन कोई जैन पंथ नहीं है जिसमें वे निवास करते हैं – और उनकी पूजा नहीं की जानी चाहिए, बल्कि उनका अनुकरण किया जाना चाहिए।
और सिर्फ़ जैन जिन्होंने अपने पर विजय प्राप्त कर ली है, उनका नहीं बल्कि इस सृष्टि के समस्त जीव जो भी स्व-विजय के मार्ग पर प्रशष्त है उनका अनुकरण / follow करना चाहिए।
ये करना (स्व-विजय) कठिन है इसीलिए जैनी रीति-रिवाज जो तुलना में सरल है उसमे उलझ कर रह गये है।
