One day, Swami Ramakrishna Paramhamsa was speaking to His disciples. The group consisted of disciples belonging to the inner circle, who had renounced the passions for worldly achievements, and were working on the Ultimate project. Master narrated a story, as an exemplar for elaborating the means to be opted, while indulging into any task; be it internal or external.
An Exulted Brotherhood
There were two brothers. One of them was a householder, with wife and kids, and the other was unwedded. Their parents had entitled equal shares of an ancestral land, which was a prolific one. It yielded the best grains, thus cropped ‘gold’ to the farmer. Any kind of gross brick-made partition was absent in the farm, the documents of lineage proved the notion. The younger brother had a thought that the grand harvest was a futile harvest for him, as he was devoid of any family responsibilities. Thus, in midnight, he filled the gunnies with grains, and silently hurled them into his plot. Similarly, his elder brother had a similar assumption. He thought that his younger brother needed more resources, as he was unmarried, and might face issues in future. He had his family to take care of in his old age thus, his younger brother could live an easy life, with some resources he could gather. Thus, he did the same act in the midnight, and went to sleep. This went on years.
One day, both of them woke at the same time, filled the sacks, and as went towards the horizon of the field, both of them bumped into each other. They asked each other about the reasons for that ‘night patrolling’. They shared their beliefs. Listening to the words of unconditional love, both embraced each other, and thanked God for the virtues rendered to them. They realized the science of Ultimate Unity, and went into deep samadhi, and departed with Rama‘s Name on their lips.
No one was acquainted with the incident. But, the elder brother’s wife and children came to know. They were principled as well, and silently accepted the beautiful demise of their Beloved. The love in their brotherhood was commended, on seeing the testament attested by the younger one, rendering his entire wealth to the elder one.
After few months, the villagers decided to construct a temple, in the realm of the village. They wanted to perform that pious task over a land, which could extend peace and love to the visitors. On consulting with many experienced people, one of them suggested to construct the temple on the land, where the two brothers were martyred into Ecstasy. The decision was finalized and after few months, the construction was completed. (This is not observed in this era of falsehood, dissension and disputes foster amongst the siblings from very childhood; magnifies logarithmically in youth.)
The visitors who payed visit to the temple, underwent drastic transformations, and metamorphized into virtuous humans. The seed of ‘Love, care and share’ was sown in their hearts, and sprouted into most magnificent saplings. This metastasized across the length and breadth of the villages, and even the neighboring villages were affected by the malignancy of this lovely cancer. People helped each other, and lived merrily, without any grudges. People from distant cities started visiting the temple. The feeling of Oneness cherished their minds, and the general rancour vanished into nothingness. The brotherly love flew with the cool breeze in the atmosphere, and lives of millions blossomed, swaying merrily in the breeze.
In southern India, there is a town, named ‘Auroville’, where the exchanges are not pivoted at finances, love and care amongst the people, fosters happiness and harmony.

The disciples asked Master about the way they could love everyone, feeling for them as they did for themselves. With a smile, Master asked them to go to Ma Sharda for acquiring the answer. The disciple who was prompted with this question, was Narendra (Later Swami Vivekananda). He immediately went towards nahabat, where Mother was preparing prasad. He expressed the motive, and asked about the way to love all. A lady was sitting near Her. Mother asked her to bring the bobbin with variegated threadings wrapped around. She asked Narendra to unwind the threads, till the undyed base of the spindle is unveiled. Narendra removed few ‘gradual’ hued coils, and found the answer. He paid respects to Mother, and ran back to Master. Master asked Him, about the happening, and the answer He received from Mother. Narendra bobbed His head, and said that He received a ‘deep silent’ answer. Master asked about the conversation. He repeated the episode of unwinding the hued spindle, till the base was exposed, without enunciating a word.
Maa Sharda, embodiment of Bliss and Love Gradual untwining the coils is only possible by practice of penance.

The disciples were aware that faith over words of Master and Mother would free them of all wrappings. The devotion and surrenderance at the Divine feet of their Guru would make them pure.
Rakhal Raj was also amidst the disciples. He couldn’t come to terms with these words, the boundaries of flesh and blood appeared as genuine frontiers. In modest voice, Master gave an illustration again.

We suppose that our little finger is wounded. In that scenario, will the other fingers and the opposite hand abandon it? They shall take care, apply an ointment, massage it, and soon the injured one will re-equip and participate in all tasks equally.
He expressed the notion of homology, and explained that the same core is present in all beings, be they living or inanimate. The Oneness was elaborated.
Another question, fell off from the logics of the disciples (They posed analysis and logics, not for testing their Master, but for quenching their expanding thirst. Their faith over their Guru was unquestionable.). They wanted to know about if any person or being died, then a part of their body is succumbed to death. Master asked them to compare that occasion, with the event of clipping the nails, or rather getting the hair cut. He again asked them not to drop to the conclusions, of absolute expiry of the being.

MORAL: Our soul is wrapped by our own thoughts. The soul is the Light, the Love itself, only an attempt to unearth the recalcitrant soil of mind, remove the filth accumulated around. Love shall open itself, like a flower blossoms in its appropriate season. The expanding Love and Faith in the words and motives of Guru can cleanse the mind, and fix it over the Element of Love. The basic elements of mere Dincharya (Daily Regime) can free us from everything, viz, waking up in Brahma Muhurta, chanting 24*7, the practice of celibacy and the rest. When we take our steps towards ‘service’ as an apprentice, the Unity, the Oneness descends unto us. The feeling of individuality diminishes to zero; the service is for ourselves, there is nothing as ‘other’.
It is the same core, which dwells in all, and is never succumbed to death. It is immortal and indestructible. The death is the event when a garment is renounced to gather another one. Illustration of Nail and hairs completely fill the vacancy of all doubts. Doership in any task kill us, inside out. Once we have the realization that we are covered by millions of windings, then it shall become easy to uncoil it. Everything is same. Allah says that He is most intimate to us, more than our death.
