Listen to the Donkey!

There lived two friends, in a town. They have the job of carrying sand and pebbles, to the construction site. Each had one donkey. They used to load their draught beast with sacks of sand and pebbles, carried them to the site and earned a feeble amount.

One day, one of the two draughts became ill. It was succumbed to intense fatigue, and couldn’t lift up its hoof off the ground. The owner was sad. With some hope, he went to his friend. He asked his if he could lend his donkey for a day, for he may not miss his wages of a day. His friend said that his donkey had gone deep into the forest, and had not returned. With a dull face, the man turned to return back home.

Cosmos was playing a mischief with the mortals. The donkey neighed loudly from his house. The dull friend turned and gave a dramatic look. He said that his friend was telling a lie, as the donkey was inside the house. In return, the owner of the ‘hidden donkey said that the world was approaching doom as people preferred to listen to a donkey, rather to the man.

MORAL: The story is humorous. But, we are like that man. Our monkey mind says that listening to the donkey (our Soul) is an imbecile approach. And. listening to the logics of the monkey, we think that we should not listen to the ‘truly-wise’ donkey. The Truth is the aspect which infiltrates all the virtues and vices. It shines, even if it is covered a densest cloud. We need a receiving end, and practice to amplify the signals reaching us.
