We are quite aware about the events which happened prior to Sri Krishna’s birth. But, it was an event in Dwaparyuga, several thousand years ago. What is its significance in our life? Let us find the answers.
Mother Devaki and Vasudev Ji were His parents. Despite of the incessant deaths of their children, they never mumbled out of complaint. Their names are adorned with prefix and suffix, “Dev”. They were blessed with the virtues of the God. They were blessed with- – Patience – Despite being imprisoned, they had patience; bore all the children with ease, and saw their deaths with the words of thanks, slipping out from their lips – Tolerance – Despite all the brutalities, they bore all the faces and phases of life – Detachment – Despite of incessant deaths, they were aware that the children were delivered through them, but they belonged to Narayan. – Self control – Irrespective of every thing, their virtues were unstirred. They were jitendriya (had controlled their senses), lust never creeped in them. – Faith – Despite of terrible toughness, they always thanked Narayan for the bounties they had, and had complete faith. – Contentment – Despite of being in worldly gloom, they were delighted under the canopy of divine light.
If we cherish these six tenets, Sri Krishna will be born within us. The Dev resided within Vasudev Ji (Vaas– to reside). Mother Devaki was the one whose heart was adorned by Sri Krishna’s presence.
As our penta elements of our existence become pure, our heart gains stillness and clarity gradually, and the illumination emanates, the soul manifests. As our Satoguna rises steadily, the Kundalini rises towards the apex, and spurts out the poison at the death centre, our mind will gain purity gradually. Eruptions of negative impulses must cease. Once the saptami (seventh day) arrives, the grand ashtami would descend, bestowing glories unto us. We will be able to see Sri Krishna within us, we will be Devaki and Vasudev ourselves.
We become Fakir. Fa- faaka– contented in all phases and faces of life, ka- kaabu- self control, ye- yakin– absolute faith, re- rehem dil– seeing Narayan in all creations. It is said, “Kabira mann nirmal bhayaa jaise ganga neer, peechhe peechhe hari firat, kehet kabir kabir.”
As Sri Krishna was born, the superficial gloom disappeared. Light emanated within the prison cell. The chains and cuffs were broken, the prison bars moved apart, the doors opened wide agape. All the guards and the rest were lost in the spell of Maya, but Mother Devaki and Vasudev Ji experienced the divine birth in midnight. All the attachments and grudges disappear, bliss persists and we become free.
Sri Krishna was delivered by Mother Devaki. He fluttered in the lap of Mother, and then asked His father, to take Him to Nandgaon, in a basket, on his head. If Narayan plays in our lap, we will be freed, and become capable of freeing others. If the hands of Narayan touch us, we are freed. But, the transcendental feet brush against the scalp, we will manifest the transcendence to the fullest.
Mother Yamuna is ready to receive the transcendental touch of the Divine feet. She rose to grave levels, for she may receive the blessings. The gentle tingling feet calmed her down. The entire water of the earth was purified. Our body is made up of seventy percent water, and blood is ninety percent water. As this water is purified, the sound of OM becomes synonymous to our existence.
When Sri Krishna was born, Mahamaya was born. When a human is born, maya is born as well. When a child is born, he or she cries. It is a scientific notion that the first cry is inevitable, as it is important to initiate proper pulmonary circulation, or rather activate the lungs. But, the cry actually denotes that the child feels that he or she is being circulated again in another bhoga yoni (birth for suffering the good and evil). But, soon the superficial parental love deludes the child and he or she is spellbound by the Maya. The parental move, and materialistic bounties make the child more and more dependent on the world, and he or she forgets the soul. But, if we unstirred and fixed at our Soul, no one would be able to delude us, even Mahamaya (grand form of delusion).
This is the true Janamaashtami for immortals.
