Once upon a time, in a tiny village, there lived a young man. He was called Sriram. Sriram lived with his mother, Janaki. Sriram loved his mother so much that he followed his mother wherever she went. One day mother Janaki said, “Why don’t you get married Sriram?” Since Sriram loved his mother so much, he’d listen to anything his mother told him to do.
So, it was settled, Sriram got married on the 31st May. The girl Sriram got married to was called Mohini. She was a divine young lady. Every night, Mohini would tell Sriram a divine story. One night, as Mohini finished her story, Sriram got a call saying his Mum had a heart attack and she had died. Sriram was miserable all day and night.
Next day, in the morning, God (Shiva) came up to the miserable Sriram and asked “Sriram, why are you so sad?” Sriram said “My mother died few days ago. That’s why I am sad, Shiva.” “Aah. I get it, you have attachment. That means you are not meditating. Meditate and let go of your mother.” said Shiva.
Sriram understood, meditated and let go of his mother. Mohini could see the change in him and that was a happy ending.
