Sabka Malik Ek

Brahmani returns to her abode. Gadadhar returns to the mandir. Now, he feels Mother within and outside himself, 24/7. One day, he experiences a thought about how Muslims reach the ultimate destination. Soon, he sees a grand crowd of Muslims pass by Dakshineshwar. There is a saint in the crowd who is realized Sufi saint. His name is Govind Rai. He greets Gadadhar saying, “Assalamu alaikum”. Gadadhar says, “Walaikum salam”. The saint says, “Allah has sent me to meet you. What do you wish to learn from me?” Gadadhar says, “How can realize the Self following the path prescribed in your ways?” The saint tells him.

Gadadhar wears the lungi instead of a dhoti for seven days, wears a white cap over his head, and even performs Namaz five times a day, completing the Wudhu (ablutions)He receives the food prepared according to the Muslim customs, except Gadadhar doesn’t eat meat. Though, he eats fish. In the first tame of performing Namaz, Gadadhar learns the methods earnestly. For the initial two days, Gadadhar does all the actions in a prescribed way and even loses his awareness of the world during the Namaz. But, after two days, it appears as if he is intoxicated in divine ecstasy. Even the saint knows about the state of samadhi and thus does not disturb him. Gadadhar remains in the sajdah for several days. He remains in sajdah for four days after taking a transient dip in the divine confluence in the initial days. Then, the saint taps him and asks him to return. Gadadhar descends to the gross plane immediately. He breathes in deeply and feels his gross presence. Then he says, “As a follower of Sanatan Dharma unites with Lord, similarly, a Muslim can also reach to the same destination. There are several paths, but the destination is one. It is futile to fight over religions. Lord is one, the Eternal One.”

Moral: It is worthless to question other religions. All shall reach the same destination. We also need to keep a one-pointed focus on the Self, disregarding doubts and other ‘if-buts’.

  1. Thank you for the wonderful story. This story has taken me to the next level in understanding and accepting the cultural differences. Earlier i had respect for the the religions but the satsang had made me realize that respecting and accepting the people around irrespective of age, gender, religion is very important to step up in spiritual journey. If I put limitations on my acceptance i can’t become part of unlimitedness.Seeing God in fellow beings makes us see God.At the same time I should not have any grudges towards any one who criticise on my beliefs and culture.Paths are different but God is one.
