This is the question of a Satshishya to a Satguru. We are aware that a Satguru is the one who has realized the self, and Satshishya is the one, who surrenders at the divine feet of his Guru, and obeys His words without any doubt.
Narendra asked Thakur Ji, “When will I begin one with the divinity? It’s easy to say Aham Brahmaasmi, Tatvam Asi, Sarvatra Khalvidam Brahma.” Near the river Ganga, Thakur Ji took Narendra to the bank of the river. Thakur Ji asked Narendra to enter the water. Being the most obedient one, Narendra entered the water. Thakur Ji placed his hand on Narendra’s head and pushed him into the water. Narendra felt that he was being succumbed to death. When Narendra was on the verge of death, Thakur Ji loosened his grip, and Narendra came out, gasping for life. Thakur Ji asked, “How did you feel?” Narendra replied, “O dear! I felt that I shall die for sure.” Thakur Ji smiled and said, “When this will happen to you, in reality, you will realize God. When you feel the immense need of God, you will realize him. There is a big difference between seeing God, being with God, and being God yourself. Obey the words and you will realize.”
People may say that these discussions are between glorious beings. What about us? Yes! If we obey the words of our Guru without a speck of doubt, we realize.
सतशिष्य- यह एक सतशिष्य का एक सतगुरु से प्रश्न है। हम जानते हैं कि सतगुरु वह है जिसने स्वयं को जान लिया है और सतशिष्य वह है जो अपने गुरु के दिव्य चरणों में समर्पित हो जाता है और बिना किसी संदेह के उनके शब्दों का पालन करता है।
नरेंद्र ने ठाकुर जी से पूछा, “मैं देवत्व के साथ कब एक हो जाऊंगा? ‘अहम् ब्रह्मास्मि, तत्त्वम असि, सर्वत्र खल्विदं ब्रह्म’ कहना आसान है।” गंगा नदी के पास ठाकुर जी नरेंद्र को नदी के किनारे ले गए। ठाकुर जी ने नरेन्द्र को जल में प्रवेश करने को कहा। सबसे आज्ञाकारी होने के नाते, नरेंद्र पानी में घुस गए। ठाकुर जी ने नरेंद्र के सिर पर हाथ रखा और उन्हें पानी में धकेल दिया। नरेंद्र को लगा कि उन्हें मौत के घाट उतारा जा रहा है। जब नरेंद्र मृत्यु के कगार पर थे, ठाकुर जी ने अपनी पकड़ ढीली कर दी, और नरेंद्र जीवन के लिए हांफते हुए बाहर आए। ठाकुर जी ने पूछा, “कैसा लगा?” नरेंद्र ने उत्तर दिया, “हे ईश्वर! मुझे लगा कि मैं निश्चित रूप से मर जाऊंगा।” ठाकुर जी ने मुस्कुराते हुए कहा, “जब तुम्हारे साथ वास्तव में ऐसा होगा, तब तुम्हे ईश्वर मिलेंगे। जब तुम्हे लगेगा की तुम ईश्वर के बिना नहीं रह सकते, तब तुम्हे ईश्वर मिलेंगे। ईश्वर को देखने में, ईश्वर के साथ होने में और स्वयं ईश्वर होने में बहुत बड़ा अंतर है। शब्दों का पालन करो और तुम्हें बोध हो जाएगा।”
लोग कह सकते हैं कि ये चर्चाएँ गौरवशाली प्राणियों के बीच हैं। हमारे बारे में क्या है? हाँ! यदि हम अपने गुरु के वचनों का बिना किसी संदेह के पालन करते हैं, तो हमें एहसास होता है।
