Maa Parvati was born in the house of King Himachal and Mother Maina. As she took birth, Brahmarishi Narad came to their house. King Himachal and Mother Maina became extremely happy, thinking, “It is a great blessing that Brahmarishi Narad is at our doorstep.” They didn’t know the reason behind his arrival. Narad Ji came to pay respects to Maa Jagdamba. It was a leela. Narad Ji said, “I have heard that a beautiful girl has taken birth in your house.” Mother Maina became happy and handed over Mother Parvati in Narad Ji’s lap. Narad Ji wanted this to happen. Mother Jagdamba was in the form, on Narad Ji’s lap! Amazing, isn’t it?
Himachal asked Narad Ji, “Tell her future.” Narad Ji was speechless as she was Jagdamba, the one beyond time and space. Then, he said, “She is very beautiful; even more beautiful than Vishnu’s Mohini form. I haven’t seen such a beautiful girl in the three worlds.” Himachal said, “We can see this. Tell further.” Narad Ji said, “This beautiful girl will grow up as a beautiful lady. She will rule the entire world.” King Himachal and Mother Maina felt happy, and said, “This is very good. What else about her?” Narad Ji continued, “She will be a saint (tapsvini) as well.” The parents said, “She will rule the world as well as be a tapsvini. What else do we need? This is very good. What about her marriage?” Narad Ji said, “It is a long way to go. I will come near the time.” Himachal and Mother Maina felt happy that Brahmarishi Narad came to bless their daughter. They didn’t know that Brahmarishi came to receive blessings from Mother Parvati. (This happens when the incarnation comes in the form. Even the little Krishna showed the universe in his mouth, but Mother Yashoda couldn’t decipher the secret that he was the incarnation. Still, she beat Lala Krishna. When the energy manifests through you, you become parents as Maya clouds you.)
Parvati was growing up. As she was growing up, Narad Ji came again. The parents became happy. Narad Ji said, “It is the time for your daughter.” The parents asked, “What time?” He said, “I told you that when I came last time.” The parents asked, “What did you say?” He said, “She will be a Tapasvini. She should meditate now.” Mother Maina became happy, “She will be a tapasvini.” Narad Ji became the Guru of Parvati Ji and guided her on the ways of meditation, “You have to meditate in this way. This and that..” After guiding Parvati Ji, Narad Ji went away.
The playful and loving Mother Parvati, the conqueror of hearts, became serious. She said to her mother, “Now, I shall go to the jungle to meditate, as per my Guruji’s guidance.” Mother Maina was happy, “You can go.” As she was a princess, many friends and soldiers went with her to serve her. Initially, she felt comfortable but gradually, as her penance matured, she asked everyone to remain away from her. They even remain away from her as her energy was growing more powerful. You cannot bear the direct heat of the sun in May-June in India.
She meditated on being surrounded by fire and the intense heat of the sun; Panchtapa. For days and nights, she didn’t eat or drink anything. Her friends come to her and offer her a few morsels. After a long time, she stopped eating. Earlier she used to eat something she received from the house. Later, she began eating Tulsi leaves and drank Ganga water. But, as the penance grew, she didn’t eat even a leaf (parn is a leaf). By this, she got the name Aparna, the one who didn’t eat even a leaf. In the realized form, she became the realized one. Before the penance, her energy was some hidden and some manifested. But then the energy completely manifested in her. Even Mother’s body became the energy itself. In every atom, there is Shiva. This is the way how her penance ended.
- As the session began, the teacher told a story, “After a shishya was trained, he asked his Guruji, “What should I give you as Guru Dakshina?” Guruji said, “Give the most wasteful thing on the planet.” The shishya rejoiced and felt, “There are many useless things on the planet.” He walked out and bent to grab a handful of soil. A voice came from the soil, “You survive because of us. The trees anchor unto us, and you eat the fruits from the trees.” The shishya felt, “It is a useful thing.” He went further and saw the excreta. He bent to grab a handful. The voice came, “We offer fertility to the soil. We supply manure to the soil hence nourishing it. You get the fruits because of us.” The shishya realized, “Everything is useful on this planet except this mind. The biggest waste is the mind.” He went to his Guruji and said, “I’m offering my mind to you.” You ask me how to get the love for God. Surrender, and you will get everything. As the ‘I’ comes, there are problems.” Someone sang a hymn, and the teacher explained, “You should learn a hymn superficially, then understand the meanings hidden in it, then absorb the bhava, visualize the form, and feel it completely. You may not know even a word, but bhava is important. I don’t know anything, but I visualize and feel the form when the hymn is being sung. Pour your emotions into the words you utter. This is how love comes. As you said ‘Rameshwaram’, see that Rama is near Shiva. You need not sing the entire hymn, only ‘Sada Shivam Bhawamyaham or Shivam Shivaya’ does the job. To visualize the form completely, you take a long way through the hymn.”
- A discussion began on Savan Somvar, the ritual in which people fast for seventeen Mondays, wishing for a husband like Shiva. Someone asked, “Did Mother Parvati penance to find Shiva as her husband?” The teacher explained, “She was the energy. Uniting with Shiva doesn’t mean the marraige of Shiva and Parvati. She didn’t have lust. In the Rasleela, Krishna was the only male form, and rest were females. Even Shiva Ji descended as Gopeshwar Mahadeva, a female form, to participate in the leela. God is one.”
- The teacher asked, “Why did God make the humans?” Someone said, “He made us for the game.” She answered the question as well, “Mother can bear everything. Mother Parvati suffered and gave tests. You are not the only ones who give tests. If Mother had not given the tests, then you could ask the reason behind the tests you face in your life? Never mind. Shiva participated in the play because of Shakti because Shakti runs the universe. On the other hand, Shiva gave the test through Shakti as Shakti emerged from him as Ardhnarinateshwar. Shakti took the form to fulfil our desires. The dwellers of heaven needed protection from the demons. To bring Kartikeya she had to get married. Don’t use your mind in finding gross answers. Just surrender and love.”
- Someone said, “It is said in Hanuman Chalisa, ‘Ram Lakhan Sita Man Basiya.’ Hanuman Ji, being an incarnation, placed the three forms in his heart, then why can’t we place Krishna and Shiva in our hearts?” The teacher rejoiced and nodded in yes. The person continued, “As Parvati Ji is here, she will surely make us cross everything (paar laga dengi).” The teacher rejoiced.
- Someone shared an experience, “I was returning from a town. My daughter slept, leaving her body loose on me. She began sleipping from my grip. Then, I managed to grab her. I learned from the incident that we should sleep in the God’s lap, as freely as a child sleeps in his mother’s lap.”
- Someone said, “I learned that her penance took her beyond the three gunas, Satoguna, Rajoguna, and Tamoguna. She became Trigunaatit. First she left eating the food, and finally, even the tulsi leaves. I conceived the food as Tamoguna and the tulsi leaves as Satoguna.” The teacher nodded in yes.
मां पार्वती का जन्म राजा हिमाचल और माँ मैना के घर में हुआ था। जैसे ही उनका जन्म हुआ, ब्रह्मर्षि नारद उनके घर आए। राजा हिमाचल और माँ मैना यह सोचकर अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए, “यह एक महान आशीर्वाद है कि ब्रह्मर्षि नारद हमारे द्वार पर हैं।” उन्होंने नारद जी के आने का कारण नहीं पता था। नारद जी मां जगदम्बा को प्रणाम करने आए थे। यह लीला थी। नारद जी ने कहा, “मैंने सुना है कि आपके घर में एक सुकन्या का जन्म हुआ है।” माँ मैना ने प्रसन्न होकर नारद जी की गोद में माँ पार्वती को सौंप दिया। नारद जी यही तो चाहते थे। नारद जी की गोद में थीं मां जगदम्बा ! अद्भुत है ना?
हिमाचल ने नारद जी से पूछा, “इसका भविष्य बताईये।” नारद जी क्या बोलते क्योंकि वह जगदम्बा थीं, जो काल और स्थान से परे थीं। फिर, उन्होंने कहा, “वह बहुत सुंदर है, विष्णु के मोहिनी रूप से भी अधिक सुंदर है। मैंने इतनी सुंदर कन्या तीनों लोकों में नहीं देखि।” हिमाचल ने कहा, ”यह हम भी देख सकते हैं। आगे बताएं.” नारद जी ने कहा, “यह सुंदर लड़की एक सुंदर महिला के रूप में बड़ी होगी। वह पूरी दुनिया पर राज करेगी।” राजा हिमाचल और माँ मैना को प्रसन्नता हुई, और उन्होंने कहा, “यह बहुत अच्छा है। उसके बारे में और क्या?” नारद जी ने आगे कहा, “वह भी एक तपसविनी होगी।” माता-पिता ने कहा, “वह दुनिया पर राज करेगी और साथ ही एक तपस्विनी भी। हमें और क्या चाहिए? यह बहुत अच्छा है। उसके विवाह के बारे में क्या?” नारद जी ने कहा, “अभी बहुत समय है। मैं समय के निकट आऊँगा।” हिमाचल और मां मैना को खुशी हुई कि ब्रह्मर्षि नारद बेटी को आशीर्वाद देने आए थे। उन्हें नहीं पता था कि ब्रह्मर्षि माँ पार्वती से आशीर्वाद लेने आए थे। (ऐसा होता है जब अवतार रूप में आते हैं। कृष्ण ने भी अपने मुंह में विश्व स्वरुप दिखाया, लेकिन माँ यशोदा इस रहस्य को नहीं समझ सकीं कि वे अवतार थे। फिर भी, उन्होंने लाला को मारा। जब ऊर्जा आपके माध्यम से प्रकट होती है, तब माया के बादल से ततुम माता-पिता बन जाते हो।)
पार्वती बड़ी हो रही थीं। जैसे-जैसे वह बड़ी हो रही थी, नारद जी फिर से आ गए। माता-पिता खुश हो गए। नारद जी ने कहा, “आपकी बेटी का समय आगया है।” माता-पिता ने पूछा, “कौनसा समय?” उन्होंने कहा, “मैंने आपको बताया था जब मैं पिछली बार आया था।” माता-पिता ने पूछा, “अपने क्या कहा था?” उन्होंने कहा, “वह एक तपस्विनी होगी। उसे अब साधना करनी होगी।” माँ मैना खुश हो गयीं, “वह एक तपस्विनी होगी।” नारद जी पार्वती जी के गुरु बन गए और उन्हें ध्यान के तरीकों पर निर्देशित किया, “आपको इस तरह से ध्यान करना है। यह और वह ..” पार्वती जी का मार्गदर्शन करने के बाद, नारद जी चले गए।
दिलों को जीतने वाली चंचल और प्रेममयी माँ पार्वती फिर गंभीर हो गईं। उन्होंने अपनी माँ से कहा, “अब, मैं अपने गुरुजी के मार्गदर्शन के अनुसार साधना करने के लिए जंगल में जाऊँगी।” माँ मैना खुश थीं, “तुम जा सकती हो।” चूंकि वह एक राजकुमारी थीं, कई सखियाँ और सैनिक उनकी सेवा में उनके साथ गए। शुरू में वह सहज महसूस करती थीं लेकिन धीरे-धीरे, जैसे-जैसे उसकी तपस्या परिपक्व होती गई, उन्होंने सभी को उनसे दूर रहने के लिए कहा। वे लोग उनसे दूर भी रहते हैं क्योंकि उनकी ऊर्जा अधिक शक्तिशाली होती जा रही थी। आप भारत में मई-जून में सूर्य की सीधी गर्मी सहन नहीं कर सकते।
वह आग से घिरी और सूर्य की भीषण गर्मी में साधना करती थीं; पंचतपा। कई दिन-रात उन्होंने कुछ खाया-पीया नहीं। उनकी सखियाँ उनके पास आतीं और उसे कुछ निवाले देतीं। काफी समय बाद पार्वती जी के खाना बंद कर दिया। पहले घर से जो मिलता था वह खा लेती थीं। बाद में वह तुलसी के पत्ते (तुलसी दल) खाने लगीं और गंगा जल पीती थीं। लेकिन, जैसे-जैसे तपस्या बढ़ती गई, उन्होंने एक पत्ता भी नहीं खाया (पर्ण याने पत्ता)। इससे उनका नाम अपर्णा पड़ा, जिसने एक पत्ता भी नहीं खाया। साकार रूप में, वह साकार हो गईं। तपस्या से पहले उनकी ऊर्जा कुछ छिपी हुई थी और कुछ प्रकट। लेकिन तब उसमें ऊर्जा पूरी तरह से प्रकट हो गई। माँ का शरीर भी शक्ति बन गया। हर परमाणु में शिव है। इस तरह उनकी तपस्या समाप्त हुई।
- जैसे ही सत्र शुरू हुआ, टीचर ने एक कहानी सुनाई, “एक शिष्य के प्रशिक्षित होने के बाद, उसने अपने गुरुजी से पूछा, “मैं आपको गुरु दक्षिणा के रूप में क्या दूं?” गुरुजी ने कहा, “पृथ्वी पर सबसे बेकार चीज दो।” शिष्य आनन्दित हुआ और महसूस किया, “धरती पर बहुत सी बेकार चीजें हैं।” वह बाहर चला गया और मुट्ठी भर मिट्टी लेने के लिए झुक गया। मिट्टी से एक आवाज आई, “आप हमारे कारण जीवित हैं। पेड़ हममे फलते हैं, और आप पेड़ों के फल खाते हैं। “शिष्य को लगा, “यह एक उपयोगी चीज है।” उसने आगे जाकर गोबर को देखा। वह एक मुट्ठी भर पकड़ने के लिए झुक गया। आवाज आई, “मिट्टी की उर्वरता हमसे आती है। हम मिट्टी को खाद की आपूर्ति करते हैं जिससे इसे पोषण मिलता है। फल हमारे कारण मिलते हैं।” शिष्य ने महसूस किया, “इस मन को छोड़कर इस ग्रह पर सब कुछ उपयोगी है। सबसे बड़ी बेकार चीज़ है मन।” वह अपने गुरुजी के पास गया और कहा, “मैं आपको अपना मन दे रहा हूं।” आप मुझसे पूछते हैं कि भगवान के लिए प्यार कैसे प्राप्त करें। समर्पण, और आपको सब कुछ मिलेगा। ‘मैं’ आता है, तो समस्याएं हैं।” किसी ने एक भजन गाया, और टीचर ने समझाया, “आपको एक भजन को सतही रूप से सीखना चाहिए, फिर उसमें छिपे अर्थों को समझना चाहिए, फिर भाव को आत्मसात करना, रूप की कल्पना करना और उसे पूरी तरह से महसूस करना चाहिए। आप एक शब्द भी नहीं जानते होंगे, लेकिन भाव होना महत्वपूर्ण है। मैं कुछ भी नहीं जानती, लेकिन जब भजन गाया जाता है तो मैं उस रूप की कल्पना करती हूं और महसूस करती हूं। अपनी भावनाओं को उन शब्दों में उड़ेल दो जो तुम कहते हो। इस तरह प्रेम आता है। जैसा कि आपने ‘रामेश्वरम’ कहा, देखें कि राम हैं शिव के पास। आपको पूरा भजन गाने की जरूरत नहीं है, केवल ‘सदा शिवं भवाम्यहम या शिवम शिवाय’ से ही काम हो जाता है। रूप को पूरी तरह से देखने के लिए, आप भजन के माध्यम से एक लंबा रास्ता तय करते हैं।”
- सावन सोमवार पर एक चर्चा शुरू हुई, जिस अनुष्ठान में लोग शिव जैसे पति की कामना करते हुए सत्रह सोमवार का उपवास करते हैं। किसी ने पूछा, “क्या माता पार्वती ने शिव को पति के रूप में पाने के लिए तपस्या की थी?” टीचर ने समझाया, “वह ऊर्जा थी। शिव के साथ मिलन होने का मतलब शिव और पार्वती का विवाह नहीं था। उनकी वासना नहीं थी। रासलीला में, कृष्ण एकमात्र पुरुष रूप थे, और बाकी महिलाएं थीं। यहां तक कि शिव जी भी लीला में भाग लेने के लिए एक महिला रूप, गोपेश्वर महादेव के रूप में अवतरित हुए। ईश्वर एक है।”
- टीचर ने पूछा, “भगवान ने इंसानों को क्यों बनाया?” किसी ने कहा, “उसने हमें खेल के लिए बनाया है।” टीचर इस सवाल का जवाब भी दिया, “माँ सब कुछ सहन कर सकती है। माँ पार्वती ने पीड़ा सही और परीक्षा दी। आप अकेले नहीं हैं जो परीक्षा देते हैं। अगर माँ ने परीक्षा नहीं दी होती, तो आप उन परीक्षाओं के पीछे का कारण पूछ सकते थे जिनका आप अपने जीवन में सामना करते हैं।? कोई बात नहीं। शिव ने शक्ति के कारण नाटक में भाग लिया क्योंकि शक्ति ब्रह्मांड को चलाती है। दूसरी ओर, शिव ने शक्ति के माध्यम से परीक्षा दी क्योंकि शक्ति उनसे अर्धनारीनाटेश्वर के रूप में उभरीं। हमारी इच्छाओं को पूरा करने के लिए शक्ति ने रूप धारण किया। स्वर्गवासियों को राक्षसों से सुरक्षा की आवश्यकता थी। कार्तिकेय को लाने के लिए उनको विवाह करना पड़ा। स्थूल उत्तर खोजने में अपने दिमाग का उपयोग न करें। बस समर्पण और प्रेम।”
- किसी ने कहा, “हनुमान चालीसा में कहा गया है, ‘राम लखन सीता मन बसिया।’ हनुमान जी ने अवतार होकर अपने हृदय में तीन रूप धारण किए, फिर हम कृष्ण और शिव को अपने हृदय में क्यों नहीं रख सकते?” टीचर प्रसन्न हुईं और हाँ में सिर हिलाया। उस व्यक्ति ने आगे कहा, “जैसा कि पार्वती जी यहाँ हैं, वह निश्चित रूप से हमें सब कुछ पार करा देंगी।” टीचर आनन्दित हुईं।
- किसी ने एक अनुभव साझा किया, “मैं एक शहर से लौट रही थी। मेरी बेटी सो गई, अपना शरीर मुझ पर छोड़ दिया। वह मेरी पकड़ से छूटने लगी। फिर, मैं उसे पकड़ने में कामयाब हो गयी। मैंने इस घटना से सीखा कि हमें सोना चाहिए भगवान की गोद, जैसे एक बच्चा अपनी मां की गोद में सोता है।” टीचर ने कहा, “हाँ! बस उनके पास सब छोड़ दो।”
- किसी ने कहा, “मैंने सीखा कि उनकी तपस्या उन्हें तीनों गुणों, सतोगुण, रजोगुण और तमोगुण से परे ले गई। वह त्रिगुणातीत बन गईं। पहले उन्होंने भोजन करना छोड़ दिया, और अंत में, यहां तक कि तुलसी के पत्ते भी। मैंने भोजन को तमोगुण और तुलसी दल को सतोगुण के रूप में माना।” टीचर ने हाँ में सिर हिलाया।
