The Seed

Prophet Mohammed (p.b.u.h.) used to chair Satsang with people. Every day, a Jew observed the satsang from a distance. One day, the Prophet asked the Jewish person, “Why don’t you come and join us?” The Jew said, “I challenge you before this grand congregation. Come with me to an open field.” The Prophet, the Jew, and the entire mass went to a place. In the field, the Jew said, “Place this seed of date tree at this point. I want a tall tree bearing fruits by tomorrow morning.” The Prophet said, “Let Allah’s will happen.” The Prophet placed the seed in the ground and mumbled, “Bismillah-E-Rehman-E-Rahim.” All left the place.

That night, the Jew couldn’t sleep. He thought, “What if the tree grew overnight?” He went to the field and took out the seed.

The next morning, the Jew went to the field with the Prophet and the Prophet’s disciples. They all saw a tall date tree with fruits on it. The Prophet asked his people, “Fetch the fruits, and we shall have them.” The astonished Jew said, “There is no seed in these fruits.” The Prophet said, “As you took out the seed, these are seedless fruits.” The Jew became silent and realized his mistake. The Prophet said, “Allah forgave you as you repented for your mistake. I am forgiving you as well.” The Jew prostrated before the Prophet and practiced Islam.

Even today, there are trees in Saudi Arabia that bear seedless fruits. They are propagated with their leaves.

A person said, “I like stories that involve food.” Alif laughed and said, “Yes! It’s true. The main gist is that all paths lead to the same destination. Jews form an important segment in ancient history. All holy texts, viz., the Bible, the Torah, and the Quran, include the same righteousness. There is a reference in the Quran  that if you run after God for miracles, it is not good. Miracles happened in history as needed at that time.”

A mother said, “We should never run after miracles. We should never judge anyone.” Alif agreed.

A mother said, “If we have faith, anything is possible. That night, the Jew was doubtful, as he wondered if the tree had grown. Despite his mischief, the tree appeared in the morning.” Alif agreed and said, “God’s seed is already in us. It will germinate and grow at the right time. Surrender yourself completely.”

A mother said, “The Prophet was good. The Jew was good. The one who beholds the Prophet every day, how loving will that person be? Moreover, the Jewish person had complete faith that the tree would grow overnight. He thought to make the tree seedless. He surely thought, “What is special if my Prophet made the tree bear seeded fruits? I will make them seedless to glorify my Prophet.” Alif applauded.

A young lady said, “Our mind is a menace. It produces thoughts to test the existence of infinity. We need not take out the seed, but let the tree grow.” Alif agreed.

Alif said, “If we remove the seeds, no weeds or trees shall grow. If we surrender the seeds to the divine feet of God, we shall rejoice. This is the reason why the consecrated mantra of the Guru is called Beej Mantra.“

A lady said, “As the Jew realized his mistake and repented at the divine feet, we should not cry over our mistakes but rather move on in the name of God. I wanted to ask a question. Nowadays, you are making us meditate on the formless. But I am neither able to adore the form nor the formless.” Alif said, “Say to Him, ‘I cannot adore anything. You make me understand the truth. I am a physical body with a mind. But you make me understand the truth. Maa tells me that you exist. Let me feel your presence.”

A person said, “I learned from the story that I should stop going to the mandir and masjid for the sake of miracles. I should stop meeting stupid people.” Alif applauded.

A mother said, “It is quite easy to repent over our mistakes. But only a true devotee can forgive and forget the wrong done to him. Before someone admits his mistake and asks for forgiveness, we should forgive and forget the wrong done to us. The Prophet was not flaunting his powers but rather performing them to improve the faith of the people.” Alif agreed.

A boy said, “Though he took the seed from the ground, the hole persisted. Similarly, Rama Naam has punctured our mind, and surely, it shall bear fruit.” Alif appreciated and said, “Rama Naam is so potent to perforate our existence that only prem exists.”

A mother said, “Surrender completely at the divine feet of Guruji. This will surely yield fruits, whether we sow the seed or not. We should offer three magnificent flowers (surrender, thankfulness, and forgiveness). We should have complete faith in God.” Alif appreciated.

A mother said, “We should have complete faith in God’s name.” Alif said, “You are praying to Allah to make your mother hale and hearty. In this case, faith is important because whatever Allah is doing is for the best. Pray to Allah, for he makes her feel his presence. This event is making you free of Prarabdha.“

बीज

पैगम्बर मोहम्मद लोगों के साथ सत्संग करते थे। हर दिन, एक यहूदी दूर से सत्संग देखता था। एक दिन, पैगम्बर ने यहूदी से पूछा, “तुम हमारे साथ क्यों नहीं आते?” यहूदी ने कहा, “मैं तुम्हें इस विशाल मण्डली के सामने चुनौती देता हूँ। मेरे साथ खुले मैदान में चलो।” पैगम्बर, यहूदी और पूरा समूह एक जगह पर गए। खेत में, यहूदी ने कहा, “इस खजूर के पेड़ के बीज को इस जगह पर लगाओ। मुझे कल सुबह तक एक लंबा पेड़ चाहिए जिसमें फल लगे हों।” पैगम्बर ने कहा, “अल्लाह की इच्छा पूरी हो।” पैगम्बर ने बीज को जमीन में रख दिया और बुदबुदाया, “बिस्मिल्लाह-ए-रहमान-ए-रहीम।” सभी लोग वहाँ से चले गए।

उस रात, यहूदी सो नहीं सका। उसने सोचा, “क्या होगा अगर पेड़ रातों-रात बढ़ गया?” वह खेत में गया और बीज निकाल लिया।

अगली सुबह, यहूदी, पैगम्बर और पैगम्बर के शिष्यों के साथ खेत में गया। उन सभी ने एक लंबा खजूर का पेड़ देखा जिस पर फल लगे हुए थे। पैगम्बर ने अपने लोगों से कहा, “फल लाओ, और हम उन्हें खाएंगे।” आश्चर्यचकित यहूदी ने कहा, “इन फलों में कोई बीज नहीं है।” पैगम्बर ने कहा, “चूंकि तुमने बीज निकाल दिया है, इसलिए ये बीज रहित फल हैं।” यहूदी चुप हो गया और उसे अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ। पैगम्बर ने कहा, “अल्लाह ने तुम्हें माफ़ कर दिया क्योंकि तुमने अपनी गलती के लिए पश्चाताप किया। मैं भी तुम्हें माफ़ कर रहा हूँ।” यहूदी ने पैगम्बर के सामने सजदा किया और इस्लाम क़ुबूल किया।

आज भी सऊदी अरब में ऐसे पेड़ हैं जिन पर बीज रहित फल लगते हैं। उन्हें उनकी पत्तियों से उगाया जाता है।

एक व्यक्ति ने कहा, “मुझे ऐसी कहानियाँ पसंद हैं जिनमें भोजन शामिल हो।” अलिफ़ ने हंसते हुए कहा, “हाँ! यह सच है। मुख्य बात यह है कि सभी रास्ते एक ही मंजिल की ओर ले जाते हैं। यहूदी प्राचीन इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण खंड रखते हैं। सभी पवित्र ग्रंथ, जैसे बाइबिल, तोराह और कुरान, में एक ही धार्मिकता शामिल है। कुरान में एक संदर्भ है कि यदि आप चमत्कार के लिए भगवान के पीछे भागते हैं, तो यह अच्छा नहीं है। इतिहास में चमत्कार उस समय की आवश्यकता के अनुसार हुए हैं।”

एक माँ ने कहा, “हमें कभी भी चमत्कारों के पीछे नहीं भागना चाहिए। हमें कभी किसी को परखना नहीं करना चाहिए।” अलिफ़ सहमत हुए।

एक माँ ने कहा, “यदि हमारे पास विश्वास है, तो कुछ भी संभव है। उस रात, यहूदी को संदेह हुआ, क्योंकि उसे आश्चर्य हुआ कि क्या पेड़ उग आया है। उसकी बेईमानी के बावजूद, सुबह पेड़ दिखाई दिया।” अलिफ़ सहमत हुए और कहा, “भगवान का बीज पहले से ही हमारे अंदर है। यह सही समय पर अंकुरित होगा और बढ़ेगा। अपने आप को पूरी तरह से समर्पित कर दो।”

एक माँ ने कहा, “पैगम्बर अच्छे थे। यहूदी अच्छे थे। जो व्यक्ति प्रतिदिन पैगम्बर को देखता है, वह कितना प्रेमपूर्ण होगा? इसके अलावा, यहूदी व्यक्ति को पूरा विश्वास था कि पेड़ रातों-रात उग जाएगा। उसने पेड़ को बीजरहित बनाने के बारे में सोचा। उसने निश्चित रूप से सोचा, “अगर मेरे पैगम्बर ने पेड़ को बीजयुक्त फल दिए तो इसमें क्या खास बात है? मैं अपने पैगम्बर की महिमा के लिए उन्हें बीजरहित बना देता हूँ।” अलिफ़ ने तालियाँ बजाईं।

एक युवती ने कहा, “हमारा मन चालाक है। यह अनंत के अस्तित्व को परखने के लिए विचार उत्पन्न करता है। हमें बीज निकालने की ज़रूरत नहीं है, बल्कि पेड़ को बढ़ने देना चाहिए।” अलिफ़ सहमत हो गई।

अलिफ़ ने कहा, “अगर हम बीज निकाल दें, तो कोई खरपतवार या पेड़ नहीं उगेंगे। अगर हम बीज को ईश्वर के दिव्य चरणों में समर्पित कर दें, तो हम आनंदित होंगे। यही कारण है कि गुरु के पवित्र मंत्र को ‘बीज मंत्र’ कहा जाता है।”

एक महिला ने कहा, “जैसा कि यहूदी ने अपनी गलती का एहसास किया और ईश्वर के चरणों में पश्चाताप किया, हमें अपनी गलतियों पर रोना नहीं चाहिए, बल्कि ईश्वर के नाम पर आगे बढ़ना चाहिए। मैं एक प्रश्न पूछना चाहती हूँ। आजकल आप हमें निराकार का ध्यान करवा रही हैं। लेकिन ना मुझे साकार जम रहा है, ना निर्गुण निराकार।” अलिफ़ ने कहा, “कुछ नहीं जम रहा तो दही जमा लो! उससे कहो, ‘मैं किसी चीज़ की पूजा नहीं कर सकता। आप मुझे सत्य समझाएँ। मैं एक भौतिक शरीर हूँ, जिसमें मन है। लेकिन आप मुझे सत्य समझाएँ। माँ कहती हैं की आप हैं। मुझे अपनी उपस्थिति “

एक व्यक्ति ने कहा, “मैंने कहानी से सीखा है कि मुझे चमत्कार के लिए मंदिर और मस्जिद जाना बंद कर देना चाहिए। मुझे सिद्ध लोगों से मिलना बंद कर देना चाहिए।” अलिफ़ ने तालियाँ बजाईं।

एक माँ ने कहा, “अपनी गलतियों पर पश्चाताप करना बहुत आसान है। लेकिन केवल एक सच्चा भक्त ही अपने साथ हुई गलती को माफ कर सकता है और भूल सकता है। इससे पहले कि कोई अपनी गलती स्वीकार करे और माफ़ी माँगे, हमें अपने साथ हुई गलती को माफ कर देना चाहिए और भूल जाना चाहिए। पैगम्बर अपनी शक्तियों का प्रदर्शन नहीं कर रहे थे, बल्कि लोगों के विश्वास को बेहतर बनाने के लिए उनका प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे।” अलिफ़ सहमत हुए।

एक लड़के ने कहा, “भले ही उन्होंने बीज को ज़मीन से निकाला हो, लेकिन छेद बना रहा। इसी तरह, राम नाम ने हमारे मन में छेद कर दिया है, और निश्चित रूप से, यह फल देगा।” अलिफ़ ने सराहना की और कहा, “राम नाम हमारे अस्तित्व को छेदने के लिए इतना शक्तिशाली है कि केवल प्रेम ही अस्तित्व में है।”

एक माँ ने कहा, “गुरुजी के दिव्य चरणों में पूरी तरह से समर्पण कर दो। यह निश्चित रूप से फल देगा, चाहे हम बीज बोएँ या नहीं। हमें तीन पुष्प (समर्पण, कृतज्ञता और क्षमा) अर्पित करने चाहिए। हमें ईश्वर पर पूरा भरोसा रखना चाहिए।” अलिफ़ ने सराहना की।

एक माँ ने कहा, “हमें ईश्वर के नाम पर पूरा भरोसा रखना चाहिए।” अलिफ़ ने कहा, “तुम अल्लाह से प्रार्थना करती हो कि तुम्हारी माँ स्वस्थ और हृष्ट-पुष्ट हो। इस मामले में, विश्वास महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि अल्लाह जो कुछ भी कर रहा है वह अच्छे के लिए है। अल्लाह से प्रार्थना करो कि वह उन्हें अपनी उपस्थिति का एहसास कराये। यह घटना तुम्हें प्रारब्ध से मुक्त कर रही है।”
