Mamta and Samata
Mamta the love and affection a mother feels for her child. The stem of the word “Mamta” is ‘mam’. “Mam” means mine or my.
Mamta is a word only used when referring to those you are close to and have attachment to.
Samta (samanata or sam) means equal. Samta means love and affection for everyone.
It can also be viewed as love for every living creature including animals and plants. We can call this universal love.
You become selfless and have no attachment because of your equal love for everything.
