Triplet Qualities

Our mental structure comprises three pillars, which govern our actions. These are three qualities, which are present in all beings, in varying proportions. Several factors influence the proportions. If we understand those qualities, we will be taken to the next step. And, we cherish the ‘next step’, we will take a grand leap to the infinity.

Satoguna- epitome of virtues
Baba Nanak has simplified this guna with simple words, Naam Jap Kirath Kar Vaandke Chakh. The actions we do should be adorned by Name of Lord, for we can do it as not being a doer (Naam Jap). We should work hard, dedication should be impeccable, but we should serve others with the things we earn, and enjoy (kirath Kar Vanndke Chakh). We should keep others needs before ours shall make us more satoguni.
– speaking the truth, being humble
– no treachery
– the one who gives off everything, he or she is always rich with everything. He or she enjoys the glories of Satyuga despite being in Kaliyuga.
Satoguna is revered from the times this universe rose. The first yuga is called Satyuga, because of the importance of Satya. Even Dwaparyuga and Tretayuga showed magnificence of Satoguna. But, Kaliyuga is showing the ‘glories’ of Rajoguna and Tamoguna.
– but, we are still away from the Truth

Rajoguna- epitome of selfishness
– foster with better intelligence, but with selfish motives
– if we learn to earn, to fulfil our desires, we suffer
– we often forget parents, after marriage, is Rajoguna
– objects of our senses we confront cherish Rajoguna
– spicy oily junk snacks enhances our rajas
– we earn or work hard, but are unable to control the desires
– from a bicycle, to a car, to a racing car, to a helicopter, to aero plane, to space and…
– we spin the cocoon of attachments around ourselves, with our assets and kinsman, sufferings rise steadily
– we exhibit Rajoguna in the materialistic world most of the time

Tamoguna- epitome of laziness
– indicates animal instincts
– perversions, negativities, destruction, vandalism, wrath, making ours unhappy…
– objects of ours senses we confront cherish Tamoguna.
– old stale smelly food enhances tamas
– listening to the news or filth of social media- irrelevant thought after confronting bad objects
– we prefer things on our bedside, or rather by snatching them from others
– we become our own enemy, restlessness, anxiety and the rest conquer us

We can divert from Tamoguna to Rajoguna, if start working a bit, stop consuming filthy diet and objects through our senses. We can divert ourselves from Rajoguna to Satoguna by following the code of conduct, the virtues being transmitted by our ancestors.

But, we remain entangled in the meshes, despite being rich in Satoguna. Only being Trigunaatit is the option, for the true aspirers.
Let us see a little parable to illustrate the three qualities of a being.

There were three robbers, who dwelt in a forest. The passers-by who passed by their dwelling were looted. One of them had the tendency to kill the passers-by. He was a Tamasic being. Other robber always thought of tying the people to the trees, for they would not complain before the police. He was a Rajasic being. The third goon used to unchain the people and drop them back to the village. But, he never returned the things he looted. He was a Satvic being.

  • We have certain queries, and we find answers as well. Let as take a glance as the questionnaire.
  • Does God exists?
    A– Yes
  • Can we realize God?
    A– Yes
  • Can we see Him?
    A– Yes, we can
  • Why can’t we see him now?
A– Because we have oriented our sight towards the world.
  • How can we reorient ourselves?
A– We should become Trigunaatit. First, we should divert ourselves from Tamoguna to Rajoguna to Satoguna. Once we start giving, we will start enjoying the bliss of dipping in Divine confluence. Then, we will become Trigunaatit.
  • How is it possible practically?
A– It is not in our hands. No one become One with Allah without a Guru. Even Prophet Adam-al-e-Salam required a Guru, to realize the Self. Prophet Mohammed (p.b.u.h.) was guided as well. We can become a good human being, but to go beyond gunas, we need to have a Guru.
  • Who was the Guru of Prophet Adam and Prophet Mohammed (p.b.u.h.)?
A– Allah was their Guru. He used to send angels to guide them on the path.
  • How can we find a Guru, for we may take swift strides towards the Self?
A– We cannot find a Guru. A Guru has to find and accept us. We only have the choice to develop the Satoguna. And, as the calibrations for Tamas, Rajas and Satva would be in rising states, sequentially, a Guru will descend in our life. We should pray to Lord, for we receive the guidance of a Satguru.
  • How can we know that he or she is our Guru? We do not have the eyes to judge others.
A– Once a Guru comes in our life, our virtues with rise exponentially. His or her words will act as a healing nectar, and we will enjoy the peace of mind. When we will go to him or her, we will feel that we know them from time immemorial, and their love is more than seventy times a mother’s love. A Guru knows us more than our parents know us.
  • How will it proceed?
A- We all are characterized by the three gunas. To become Trigunaatit, Guru pulls out the thorns of gunas from our existences. The pseudo- protective shell shall be cracked open, the ego shall be crushed. The wounds shall be unveiled, but if we will bear the pains, we will soon enjoy the bliss.
