- Faith versus Logic

Once upon, there lived a pandit ji in the city of Agra. He used to recite Ramakatha, at various sites.

He had a habit of calling upon Hanuman Ji, to take the seat on the aasan, before sitting on the vyaaspitha (The aasan on which story-teller sits).

People assembled in a multitude, to listen the recitation.

One day, a solicitor came to listen the katha. He observed the peculiar habit of pandit ji. He saw that for three days and on the fourth day, he went to pandit ji, to quench his curiosity.

He asked if Hanuman ji really acquired the seat, during the recitation. Pandit ji was humble. He affirmed his belief politely, and asked the lawyer to avoid visiting the pandal. And, if he wanted to suggest, pandit ji agreed to stop the recitations. The lawyer was obstinate. He forced the pandit to prove the presence of Hanuman Ji.
With blocked ways, Pandit ji agreed. He asked the lawyer to take the aasan with him, while he left, and told im to bring it back next morning. The man agreed.

Moon illuminated the sky, till their conversation came to an end. Pandit ji went back home.

He prayed to Hanuman ji, saying that it was going to be a test of faith of a devotee and force of a deva. He surrendered himself at the Divine feet of Lord and went to sleep.

Next morning, Pandit ji reached the pandal and occupied the vyasapitha. Then, he asked the man to place the aasan back at its original site. The man did the same. Pandit ji invited Hanuman Ji to acquire the seat.

A grand mob muzzled in inquisitive silence.

Then, he asked the lawyer to lift up the aasan. If he could lift it up, then Pandit ji agreed to become a servant in his office.

And, if found unable to do so. the lawyer promised to renounce his job, and become his devotee, would go with him, at the sites of reciting ramakatha.

The lawyer was keen and bold. He came with all physical and mental strengths. But, as he was few cubits away from the aasan, an invincible force seemed to push him back. He was thrown out of the platform. He made several efforts, but in vain…..

The man realized his mistake and surrendered at the Divine feet of Hanuman Ji, sitting on the aasan, in invulnerable form.

The solicitor resigned his post and gathered saffron robes.
