There was a king. He went into a deep jungle, with his friends, for hunting. Dark dusk hit the sky and due to unknown reasons, the king got lost in the forest. The king didn’t find anyone in the forest.
Before leaving for hunting, the king asked one of his wise ministers, “Come with me.” The minister denied it and said, “I can’t come with you, as I have some work.” The king was annoyed and hence sentenced to imprisonment. After imprisoning the minister, he left for hunting.
As we saw before… the king was lost in the forest. Soon, a group of tribals caught him and took him to their altar for the annual human sacrifice ceremony. The tribals rejoiced and took the king to their priest. The priest examined the king thoroughly and found that the king’s finger was cut.
The notion behind the king’s injury was that the imprisoned minister said to the king when the king was bruised, “Whatever happens happens for the best.” The king was annoyed by the disrespectful response. Finally, the minister’s denial to accompany the king for hunting, made the king imprison the minister.
Now,… because of that injured finger, the king got a second life. The priest said, “We cannot sacrifice a man with an injured finger.” The king was left free. Though the king was scared, he ran back to his camp. He found his friends dancing in jolly, and hence the king rejoiced.
The next morning, the king asked his guards to bring the minister from the prison. The king narrated the entire story to the minister and asked, “You used to say ‘Whatever happens happens for the best!’ What is good in this?” The minister replied, “If your finger was not injured, the tribals would have sacrificed you.” The king said, “Well! It’s okay. What was good about the fact that you didn’t accompany us? We enjoyed it a lot.” The minister replied, “If I had come with you, I would not leave you alone in the forest, unlike your friends. Finding me intact in all aspects, the tribals would have sacrificed me. Hence, it’s said ”Whatever happens happens for the best!'”
People may think that adverse circumstances fall on us. But, we should remember ‘Whatever happens happens for the best.’ It is the fruit of our Karma. We should be thankful for everything.

शिकार पर जाने से पहले राजा ने अपने एक बुद्धिमान मंत्री से कहा, “मेरे साथ आओ।” मंत्री ने इसका खंडन किया और कहा, “मैं आपके साथ नहीं आ सकता, क्योंकि मुझे कुछ काम है।” राजा नाराज था और इसलिए कारावास की सजा सुनाई। मंत्री को बंदी बनाकर वह शिकार के लिए निकल गया।
जैसा कि हमने पहले देखा… राजा जंगल में खो गया था। जल्द ही, आदिवासियों के एक समूह ने उसे पकड़ लिया और वार्षिक मानव बलि समारोह के लिए अपनी वेदी पर ले गए। आदिवासी आनन्दित हुए और राजा को अपने पुजारी के पास ले गए। पुजारी ने राजा की अच्छी तरह से जांच की और पाया कि राजा की उंगली कटी हुई है।
राजा को चोट लगने के पीछे यह धारणा थी कि राजा को चोट लगने पर बंदी मंत्री ने राजा से कहा, “जो होता है अच्छे के लिए होता है।” अपमानजनक प्रतिक्रिया से राजा नाराज हो गया। अंत में, मंत्री द्वारा शिकार के लिए राजा के साथ जाने से इनकार करने पर, राजा ने मंत्री को कैद कर लिया।
अब… उस घायल अंगुली के कारण राजा को दूसरा जीवन मिल गया। पुजारी ने कहा, “हम घायल उंगली वाले व्यक्ति की बलि नहीं दे सकते।” राजा आजाद रह गया। हालाँकि राजा डर गया था, वह अपने शिविर में वापस भाग गया। उसने अपने दोस्तों को मस्ती में नाचते देखा, और इसलिए राजा बहुत खुश हुआ।
अगली सुबह राजा ने अपने सिपाहियों से मंत्री को कारागार से लाने को कहा। राजा ने मंत्री को पूरी कहानी सुनाई और पूछा, “तुम कहते थे ‘जो होता है अच्छे के लिए होता है!’ इसमें क्या अच्छा है?” मंत्री ने उत्तर दिया, “यदि आपकी उंगली घायल नहीं होती, तो आदिवासियों ने आपकी बलि दे दी होती।” राजा ने कहा, “ठीक है! कोई बात नहीं। इस बात में क्या अच्छा हुआ कि तुम हमारे साथ नहीं गए? हमें बहुत मज़ा आया।” मंत्री ने उत्तर दिया, “यदि मैं आपके साथ आता, तो मैं आपको आपके मित्रों के जैसे जंगल में अकेला नहीं छोड़ता। मुझे सभी पहलुओं में स्वस्थ पाकर, आदिवासी मुझे बलिदान कर देते। इसलिए, यह कहा जाता है कि ‘जो कुछ होता है उसके लिए होता है। सबसे अच्छा!'”
लोग सोच सकते हैं कि प्रतिकूल परिस्थितियां हम पर आ पड़ती हैं। लेकिन, हमें याद रखना चाहिए ‘जो होता है अच्छे के लिए होता है।’ यह हमारे कर्मों का फल है। हमें हर चीज के लिए शुक्रगुजार होना चाहिए।
