Which is the best Charity?

We all know about Raja Janaka Ji, the father of Maa Sita. Raja Janak has a guru known as Yajnavalkya. Yajnavalkya was also known as Ashtavakra due to his body shape. Before the initiation of Raja Janaka by Yajnavalkya, he was very restless. He used to organise debates in his Rajya Sabha, and whoever used to lose had to kill themselves by jumping into the river. This was not good practice.

When Ashtavakra Ji was young, his father lost one of these debates and had to jump into the river. Ashtavakra Ji heard about this and said, “I will go to Janaka’s Darbar to see what is the matter?” He once went to the Darbar to participate in one of those debates and won. After his win, he said to Raja Janaka, “I would not like to punish my opponent.” He will not jump in the river. But I would like to call everybody back who died by jumping into the river previously. He possessed the ability to bring back to life all the dead people who had taken Jal Samadhi. Raja Janaka was very impressed by Yajnawalkya Ji. Raja Janaka now desired Yajnawalkya Ji as his Guru.Janaka Ji thought, “Ashtavakra Ji is the person who has realised himself.” Others were just debating and were far away from reality.

He asked Yajnavalkya Ji, “Will you please initiate me?” “Kindly check with your wife first,” Yajnavalkya JI replied modestly. Maa Sunaina was a very devoted lady of God. Maa Sunaina said, “Yes.” Then Raja Janaka came and replied, “Yes, we are ready to get initiated by you.” Ashtavakra said, “First give me Guru Dakshina, then I will initiate you.” Raja Janaka asked, “Why are you asking for Guru Dakshina before initiation?” Ashtavakra Ji replied, “Once you are initiated, you will become one with the divinity.” You will not then give Guru Dakshina.”Raja Janaka said, “Please ask what you want as Guru Dakshina.” Again, Ashtavakra Ji said, “Go and ask your wife whether you are ready to give your life, mind, or money.” You must give your all to either of them.”If you are choosing life, then you have to die. Money other than your complete belongings will be taken away. Nothing will be left to you if you give your mind. You must choose one; otherwise, I would not have come here to initiate you. If you are ready to give Dakshina, then come. Then he went to Maa Sunaina and explained everything that Ashtavakra Ji had asked as dakshina. Maa Sunaina was a very humble and uplifted lady. She said, “Yes, he will initiate us.” Janaka Ji asked, “What should be given as Guru dakshina?” Maa said, “If we give our physical bodies, then we will be of no use.” “Anybody can give life; it’s not a big deal.” As Ashtavakra Ji is a sanyas, the money is of no use to him. “You are the king and have to look after the kingdom, so we should give the money.” Then what should we give? She replied, “The one thing that belongs to us is our mind.” “Let’s give our minds to him.” The biggest charity is the charity of your mind.

They went to Ashtavakra Ji and said, “We are ready to give our minds to you.” Ashtavakra Ji, “Ok.” He gave his mind to Ashtavakra Ji and went horse riding. He was about to sit on a horse, and at that very moment, he went into deep samadhi to become one with God. The biggest charity is the charity of your mind. Your guru only needs you to give your mind to him. The mind is the one that makes us suffer. After initiation, Janaka Ji started living his life like Vaidehi. He used to keep one hand in his wife’s head and the other in the fire, but not get burned. He has given his mind to God, so his body also belongs to God.

Once Yajnavalkya Ji came back to Raja Janaka’s kingdom, Raja Janaka became extremely happy. He did everything possible for him in the best way possible for his guru. When Yajnavalkya Ji was going back, Raja Janaka felt a little sad about it. As soon as Janaka Ji felt sad, Yajnavalkya Ji gave him a slap and said, “You are a thief.” You gave your mind to me, but you took it back; that’s why you were happy when I came and sad when I left. Give your mind back to me. And from that point on in Raja Janaka Ji’s life, he never took his mind off his guru.

We all know what events took place in Janaka Ji’s life. Adi Shakti incarnated in the form of Sita Mata in Janaka Ji’s kingdom. Shri Ram Ji has to go and live in Janakpuri for 4 months. Raja Dushrath came to Janakpuri for the wedding. Guru Vishvamitra Ji, despite being a Guru, came to Janaka Ji’s. Why did all these events take place? because he has surrendered himself to the divine feet of his guru. The best charity is the charity of your mind. There will be no sorrow once you have given your mind.

Shri Ramakrishna then explained to M, “Why are you worrying about your wife?” When you surrender, things will fall into place, and your wife has to follow you. “You are not depending on God; that’s why these questions are raised.”

• A lady said, “What I understood is that until we have the feeling of “I am the doer,” surrendering our minds to God is not possible.” Acceptance should come from within; I am not the doer. “Once we accept, then there will be no ego left and things will follow easily for us.” The teacher replied, “Tu Tu Karta Tu Bhaya, Mujhe Main Rahi Na Hu, Vaaree Feri Bali Gayee, Jit Dekhu Tit Tu.” Accept everything that comes your way and stop expecting. Once accepted, you can feel the ananda. “Acceptance is the will of God.”

जब अष्टावक्र जी छोटे थे तो उनके पिता इनमें से एक वाद-विवाद में हार गए और उन्हें नदी में कूदना पड़ा। अष्टावक्र जी ने इस बारे में सुना और कहा, “मैं जनक के दरबार में जाऊंगा देखने के लिए कि मामला क्या है?” वह एक बार उन बहसों में से एक में भाग लेने के लिए दरबार गए और जीत गए। अपनी जीत के बाद, उन्होंने राजा जनक से कहा, “मैं अपने प्रतिद्वंद्वी को दंडित नहीं करना चाहूंगा।” वह नदी में नहीं कूदेगा। लेकिन मैं उन सभी को वापस बुलाना चाहूंगा जो पहले नदी में कूद कर मर गए थे। उनके पास जल समाधि लेने वाले सभी मृत लोगों को वापस जीवन में लाने की क्षमता थी। याज्ञवलक्य जी से राजा जनक बहुत प्रभावित हुए। राजा जनक अब याज्ञवलक्य जी को अपना गुरु बनाना चाहते थे। जनक जी ने सोचा, “अष्टावक्र जी ही वह व्यक्ति हैं जिन्होंने स्वयं को महसूस किया है।” अन्य सिर्फ बहस कर रहे थे और वास्तविकता से बहुत दूर थे।

 उन्होंने याज्ञवल्क्य जी से पूछा, “क्या आप मुझे दीक्षा देंगे?” याज्ञवल्क्य जी ने विनयपूर्वक उत्तर दिया, “कृपया पहले अपनी पत्नी से जाँच करें।” माँ सुनैना भगवान की एक बहुत ही समर्पित महिला थीं। माँ सुनैना ने कहा, “हाँ।” तब राजा जनक ने आकर उत्तर दिया, “हाँ, हम आपसे दीक्षा लेने के लिए तैयार हैं।” अष्टावक्र ने कहा, “पहले मुझे गुरु दक्षिणा दो, फिर मैं तुम्हें दीक्षा दूंगा।” राजा जनक ने पूछा, “आप दीक्षा से पहले गुरु दक्षिणा क्यों माँग रहे हैं?” अष्टावक्र जी ने उत्तर दिया, “एक बार दीक्षा लेने के बाद, आप देवत्व के साथ एक हो जाएंगे।” तब आप गुरु दक्षिणा नहीं देंगे।” राजा जनक ने कहा, “कृपया गुरु दक्षिणा के रूप में जो आप चाहते हैं, वह मांगें।” फिर, अष्टावक्र जी ने कहा, “जाओ और अपनी पत्नी से पूछो कि क्या आप अपना जीवन, मन या धन देने के लिए तैयार हैं। “आपको अपना सब कुछ उनमें से किसी एक को दे देना चाहिए।” यदि आप जीवन चुन रहे हैं, तो आपको मरना होगा। आपके पूरे सामान के अलावा अन्य पैसे ले लिए जाएंगे। यदि आप अपना मन देंगे तो आपके पास कुछ नहीं बचेगा।आपको एक चुनना होगा; अन्यथा, मैं यहां आपको दीक्षित करने नहीं आता। यदि आप दक्षिणा देने को तैयार हैं, तो आइए। फिर वे माँ सुनैना के पास गए और अष्टावक्र जी ने दक्षिणा के रूप में जो कुछ भी मांगा था, उसे सब कुछ बताया। माँ सुनैना एक बहुत ही विनम्र और उत्थानशील महिला थीं। उसने कहा, “हाँ, वह हमें दीक्षा देगा।” जनक जी ने पूछा, “गुरु दक्षिणा में क्या देना चाहिए?” माँ ने कहा, “यदि हम अपना भौतिक शरीर दे देंगे, तो हमारा कोई उपयोग नहीं होगा।” “कोई भी जीवन दे सकता है, यह कोई बड़ी बात नहीं है।” अष्टावक्र जी संन्यासी होने के कारण धन उनके किसी काम का नहीं। “आप राजा हैं और आपको राज्य की देखभाल करनी है, इसलिए हमें धन देना चाहिए।” फिर हमें क्या देना चाहिए? उसने उत्तर दिया, “केवल एक चीज जो हमारी है वह हमारा मन है।” “चलो अपना दिमाग उसे दे दो।” सबसे बड़ा दान मन का दान है।

वे अष्टावक्र जी के पास गए और बोले, “हम अपना मन आपको देने को तैयार हैं।” अष्टावक्र जी, “ठीक है।” वे अष्टावक्र जी को अपना मन देकर घुड़सवारी करने चले गए। वह घोड़े पर बैठने ही वाला था कि उसी क्षण वह भगवान के साथ एक होने के लिए गहरी समाधि में चला गया। सबसे बड़ा दान मन का दान है। आपके गुरु को केवल यह चाहिए कि आप अपना मन उन्हें दें। मन ही है जो हमें कष्ट देता है। दीक्षा के बाद जनक जी विदेही की तरह अपना जीवन व्यतीत करने लगे। वह एक हाथ अपनी पत्नी के सिर में और दूसरा हाथ आग में रखते थे, लेकिन जलते नहीं थे। उसने अपना मन भगवान को दे दिया है, इसलिए उसका शरीर भी भगवान का है।

एक बार याज्ञवल्क्य जी राजा जनक के राज्य में वापस आए तो राजा जनक अत्यंत प्रसन्न हुए। उन्होंने अपने गुरु के लिए सर्वोत्तम तरीके से उनके लिए हर संभव प्रयास किया। जब याज्ञवल्क्य जी वापस जा रहे थे तो राजा जनक को इस बात का थोड़ा दुख हुआ। जनक जी के उदास होते ही याज्ञवल्क्य जी ने उन्हें एक तमाचा जड़ दिया और कहा, “तू चोर है।” तुमने अपना मन मुझे दिया था, लेकिन तुमने उसे वापस ले लिया; इसलिए मेरे आने पर आप खुश थे और मेरे जाने पर दुखी थे। अपना मन मुझे वापस दे दो। और उस समय से राजा जनक जी के जीवन में, उन्होंने कभी भी अपने गुरु से अपना मन नहीं हटाया।

जनक जी के जीवन में क्या-क्या घटनाएँ घटीं, यह हम सब जानते हैं। आदि शक्ति ने जनक जी के राज्य में सीता माता के रूप में अवतार लिया। श्री राम जी को चार महीने के लिए जनकपुरी में जाकर रहना है। शादी में शामिल होने के लिए राजा दशरथ जनकपुरी आए थे। गुरु विश्वामित्र जी गुरु होते हुए भी जनक जी के यहाँ पधारे। ये सारी घटनाएँ क्यों हुईं? क्योंकि उसने स्वयं को अपने गुरु के दिव्य चरणों में समर्पित कर दिया है। सबसे अच्छा दान अपने मन का दान है। एक बार आपने अपना मन दे दिया तो कोई दुःख नहीं होगा।

• एक महिला ने कहा, “जैसे याज्ञवल्क्य जी सभी मृत लोगों को वापस ले आए, वैसे ही हमारे पास अतीत को बार-बार वापस लाने की प्रवृत्ति है।” सुन्दर व्याख्या थी। “मेरा एक प्रश्न है। याज्ञवल्क्य जी हर बार जनक जी से वापस जाने और अपनी पत्नी से अनुमति माँगने के लिए क्यों कहते हैं? शिक्षक ने समझाया,” ऐसा इसलिए है क्योंकि जनक जी विवाहित थे, और जब आप विवाहित हैं, तो वे कोई निर्णय नहीं ले सकते हैं। अकेले।” वे एक इकाई हैं। यदि जीवन में कोई बड़ा निर्णय लेने की आवश्यकता है, तो उस पर दोनों की सहमति होनी चाहिए। जब ​​निर्णय केवल सज्जनों द्वारा लिया जाता है, तो वह हमेशा हारता है। यदि महिला निर्णय लेती है अपने दम पर, वह अपने घर को एक जीवित नरक बना देगी। जब वे एक साथ निर्णय लेते हैं और भगवान के साथ एक हो जाते हैं। गृहस्थ जीवन ऐसे ही चलता है। महिला ने फिर सवाल किया, “क्या होगा अगर पति पत्नी को भगवान के रास्ते पर चलने से रोके?” शिक्षक ने उत्तर दिया, “जैसा कि श्री रामकृष्ण ने एम से कहा, अपनी पत्नी को तुम्हें रोकने दो।” “आप जो चाहते हैं उसका पालन करें।” एम ने उत्तर दिया, “मेरी पत्नी आत्महत्या कर लेगी।” श्री रामकृष्ण ने उत्तर दिया, “फिर उसे आत्महत्या करने दो। ” उत्तर सुनकर एम चिंतित हो गए कि उनकी पत्नी आत्महत्या कर लेगी। श्री रामकृष्ण ने तब व्याख्या की एम से पूछा गया, “आप अपनी पत्नी के बारे में चिंता क्यों कर रहे हैं?” जब आप आत्मसमर्पण करते हैं, तो चीजें ठीक हो जाएंगी, और आपकी पत्नी को आपका अनुसरण करना होगा। “आप भगवान पर निर्भर नहीं हैं, इसलिए ये सवाल उठा रहे हैं।“
