What is this term? In Geeta, Sri Krishna had elaborated several aspects of existence, viz,
But, the ultimate conclusion appears that Sri Krishna has asked Arjun to become a Yogi. Let us decipher the true meaning of this term?
- Let us try to find out the ways through which we become visible to the world. We might think that we are visible when the rays from an illuminated object falls on us.
- Let us consider the sun for a second. Now, let us leave it and find other alternative sources of light, for night.
- We might prefer a lamp. But, we are in a scenario that we cannot light a lamp. So can we prove that we exist?
- We may think with our scientific brain and drop to the mechanism of sound propagation, the science of echolocation. The fluctuating intensities of sounds can help us locate objects.
- What will be the option, if this mechanism cannot be operated?
- The breathes can be used as a tool to know the consciousness. But, it is forced artificially in case of patients on ventilators.
- The consciousness is the best option. If we rely on the consciousness and stay fix over the apex, we will be a Yogi.
- Sri Krishna is a Yogi, Yogiraj, Vishwaguru, and so is Shiv Ji.
- Let us see an illustration to know different scenes of thoughts in our minds.
- Once there was a park which had a large tree in its premises. One day some one cut the tree. Several visitors had the habit to visit the part in dusk and dawn. One day a thief passed by the side of the tree, which only posed its stump over the ground. He thought that it was a police man waiting for his prey. He ran away immediately. Within fifteen minutes, a cop passed by. He felt that a thief was hiding behind the trunk. He began searching the robber. Soon a lover passed by. He felt that his beloved is sitting there. He rushed towards the tree. Then, Arjun passed by. He saw the stump as it was. Then, Sri Krishna came as well. He was fixed at the sight of the tree stump, and his eyes were frozen, in an agape mode. Arjun asked about the cause of such bewilderment. Sri Krishna replied that he saw Shiv Ji, his Guru in the tree. That was the true Krishna consciousness, a yogic state.
- How can we attain this yogic state?
On Sunday, we behave as donkeys in the morning. Laziness and unnecessary fatigue conquers us. We do not feel like doing something.![]() |
In rest of the days, we are monkeys. Our mind is unstable, and goes to all the nooks and corners of our skull. We do everything, but we are least focused. ![]() |
When we are forced by the external circumstances to work (like, incentives from the company, or lashes from the teachers, or scornful look by our parents, we prefer working). This is the state of a butterfly. Though we are focused, but we are prone to be stirred by strong stimuli.![]() |
The next state is the state of Dhyaan. We are called a Sadhak. The mind is focused on the tasks we do, and we believe that Lord is the doer. We work as true tools of Lord. Once we reach to this state, we gather a good receiving end.![]() |
As the mind rises from this super conscious state, we can see the Krishna consciousness in all creations and creatures of the cosmos. This is the yogic state. |
If we move from the states of donkeys or monkeys, to butterflies, we tend to gather some feasible focus. Then, we can move to other higher states of consciousness, and finally to the Yogic state.
