The Cow and The Farmer

Once there lived a farmer named Sam. He owned a cow. The cow used to give milk everyday. The cow fell sick one day and could not give milk. Sam was not happy that the cow didn’t give milk and didn’t bother to check if she was ok. He stopped feeding properly. The cow felt very sad. This went on for some days. Finally Sam has taken the cow to the near by forest and left it there. The poor cow started walking alone in the forest. She met another farmer called Ram on the way. Ram is a kind man and searched for cow’s owner around. He also realised that the cow is not well. Finally he has taken the cow to his house. Ram looked after the cow well. After few days the cow is recovered fully and gave birth to baby cow. Ram could earn good money by selling cow’s milk.

Sam heard from nearby farmers that Ram is earning good money by selling the milk. He went on to check the cow. Sam recognised that it is his cow and argued with Ram to give the Cow back to him, as he wanted to make that money. Ram refused to give the cow. They both went to Village court. The judge told them that the cow will decide her owner. Even though Sam was instructing the cow to come to him, the cow went to Ram. Happy Ram went home with the cow.
